ABC News and People magazine have teamed up to produce the People Icons TV show. The weekly, hourlong series is hosted by Good Morning America co-anchor Lara Spencer, with contributions from People‘s Jess Cagel. Iconic People magazine covers inspired the TV series.
Each episode focuses on a new theme that has captured the public’s attention. “Celebrity Love Stories” recounts the most talked about love stories of our time. It takes a look back at romances between all sorts of couple, from the Obamas to Prince William and Kate, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the Estefans, and legendary love stories like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton’s.
“Heroes & Survivors” features true survival and hero stories. ABC says, “The episode highlights everyday heroes among us who defied all odds and touched America’s hearts.” The program also revisits and updates famous survivor stories, from Baby Jessica to Lauren Scruggs and more. In addition, it shines a spotlight on incredible kid survivors and pet heroes.
“Gone Too Soon” recalls actors, musicians, and comedians, etc. who died before their time. Whitney Houston’s friend, BeBe Winans gives an interview about the deceased songstress and actress. Patrick Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, and Robin William’s widow, Susan Williams, talk about the loss of their husbands. And just weeks before the one-year anniversary of his death, People Icons will pay tribute Prince, visit Paisley Park, and talk to his sister, who reveals the singer’s desires regarding his legacy.

This episode revisits favorite A-list male celebrities from People’s past and current “Sexiest Man Alive” covers. From George Clooney to Brad Pitt and the reigning “Sexiest Man Alive,” The Rock. Viewers also get a behind the scenes peek into what goes into landing the cover.

I believe the show was cancelled.. Naturally lack of viewers. The title of the show is completely wrong. When I saw the name on my TV guide (on the tv..Not paper tv guide) I thought the show was about celebrate icons. Not interested. But clicked back over and fell in love with your show. The problem is the title of the show. Show title should be” “People’s Magazine Heroes” or ” Hero’s of People Magazine”. Or “People’s Heroes”..This is the best.
