After scheduling sitcoms on Mondays at 9pm for decades, CBS execs decided to try tech drama Scorpion in that timeslot last season. Despite lots of negative reviews, it became the network’s third-highest rated show in the demo. Will it continue to do well? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
Based on real-life events, Scorpion revolves around computer expert Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. They’re this country’s last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats. The series also stars Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham and Eddie Kaye Thomas.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/25 update: CBS has renewed this series and 10 others for the 2016-17 season. Details here.
4/26 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The first season of Scorpion averaged a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.96 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Scorpion TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Please don’t cancel this show! It is one of the greatest shows on and we so very much anticipate and enjoy it!
Scorpion is a fantastic tech-drama. By far the best series on television, in my opinion. The show stopped with no warning, which prompt me to search this site for an explanation. Please don’t cancel this program. It is my favorite.
Love this show! Please don’t take it off ! Although paige clearly belongs with Walter, who in the Heck is this Tim got anyway? He is. clearly her second choice anyway! Hat rid of Tim”s Character!
Absolutely love the show, very entertaining, and am over 60…so there, love the characters, all of them….
Love the show. Don’t cancel!
I so look forward to watching Scorpion every week. I love watching the interaction between them and how they try to overcome their insecurities to trust each other and become more emotionally available. More people should watch the show. Please keep the show going
Love the show, it is my go to show on Mondays. Please bring it back
WHY?? Did CBS cast a bombay indian as a white Irish genius?? Real bad terrible casting.
I believe if you watch every episode and think of it as building blocks you can see what the writers are doing. As far as the romance goes, they always start slow. They are built over time. Since Walter has a high IQ he can’t or has a hard time processing romance since it is a feeling not a fact or equation. Paige has to break down those barriers with touch, explanation, and self emotions. At the end of season two we see that wall falling down and Walter coming to grips with his inner self and the true meaning of… Read more »
Really enjoy it. It’s a fun watch.
We look forward to Monday evening watching Scorpion. This is a show the whole family may watch.
The plots on this show get stupider every week. They need to hire Adam and Jamie from mythbusters to advise the writers on stuff that actually makes sense. Watching this stuff week after week is starting to make my head hurt.
Are you out of your mind? The acting is tremendous the characters are suppose to be awkward and not very sociable, because they’re geniuses and lack social skills!!
some episode are an insult to intelligence.. like the one when they half fill a small room of a submarine to turn around thousands tons submarine stuck on the bottom of the ocean…
I love the show, please do not cancel it~
I love the show. I did not like the ending !! I really wish we could of watched the show and not heard the producers talking through the whole episode !!!
If you are referring to the episode available to watch on CBS website – there are two versions. One with the producers commentary and one version that is the the regular episode without commentary. I don’t know how long CBS makes both available to view for free or if need to have a CBS all-access subscription
