Clary Fray lives to fight another day. The Shadowhunters TV show has been renewed for season three, Freeform confirms. Below, watch the cast announce the third season renewal. The second half of Shadowhunters, season two, returns to Freeform on Monday, June 5th, at 8:00pm ET/PT. Season three will premiere in 2018.
A Shadowhunters cancellation was not expected. Last week, we reported production on season three would begin in August. The Freeform series stars Katherine McNamara, Matthew Daddario, Alberto Rosende, Dominic Sherwood, Harry Shum Jr., Emeraude Toubia, and Isaiah Mustafa.

AS FREEFORM PICKS UP A THIRD SEASON OF THE HIT SAGA SERIESFreeform will be bringing back their hit original saga series “Shadowhunters” for a third season to air in 2018. The network announced the news today via a Facebook live interview with cast members from the Toronto-based set. Fans can view here.
“Shadowhunters” returns for the second half of season two on MONDAY, JUNE 5 (8:00 – 9:00 p.m. EDT), with Shadowhunters and Downworlders reeling from what happened at the New York Institute in the winter finale. As the rift between the two sides grows larger, the team and their Downworld friends and lovers are put in the middle of the dangerous divide. Torn between the Clave’s rules and what they feel is right, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle struggle to help forge a new beginning. Relationships will be tested, a new Shadowhunter named Sebastian will join the fray and the Seelie Queen will step out of the shadows in the summer season.
“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG, Michael Reisz, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer. The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

Its like every time I like a show they what to cancel it i really like the Shadowhunters. I started by reading the all the Shadowhunter books and i don’t like reading at all.
I couldn’t believe that I would fall in love with this series when I watched the first season, then the second and I can hardly wait for the third…please do not ever cancel this show.

If the show gets canceled I would be very upset. I loved the books and even though the show is different in some ways I would love to see the show be played out all the way.
