What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Shannara Chronicles stars Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko, Marcus Vanco, Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie, and Desmond Chiam. When season two kicks off, chaos has overtaken the Four Lands. With the population afraid of the return of magic, a body called The Crimson does not hesitate to intimidate anyone as it hunts down magic users. Meanwhile, in the wake of his losses, Wil (Butler) forsakes his destiny to become a healer. However, after the mysterious Mareth (Jow) saves him, he returns to the struggle.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The Shannara Chronicles on Spike averaged a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 246,000 viewers. Compared to season one on MTV, that’s down by 77% and down by 72%, respectively. Learn how The Shannara Chronicles stacks up against other Spike TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Based on the ratings, things already didn’t look good and then they started airing two episodes a night which smelled like a burnoff. The Viacom execs have been shuffling programs on their channels (including BET, CMT, TV Land, VH1, and MTV) so they may be okay with this big dip in the ratings as they try to establish the new Paramount Network. I’ll keep a hungry eye out and will update this page with breaking developments (and, hopefully, my supper plans). These networks cancel not caring about the people that l great shows like Shanara at will not caring one bit about the people that are loyal to watching them….By doing so, you only enforce future shows from being watched because you pissed off the viewers!!! Why should anybody want to continue a knew show with the thought that it will be cancelled too!?!

I really hope that there is a Season Three. It was just starting to pick up momentum and it will be a loss to just let it end.
This is the first show I have watched where I can’t turn it off! Why on earth is it even a question if there will be a third season. I think the Shannara Chronicles is derected well.
Heaven knows I’ve seen many worse which haven’t been canceled!
I’ve been waiting for a show like this there’s no way that the ppl that have the power to take control of this show can’t see the unique potential of this show. Endless content from a writer who has been working on it for years on top of there is nothing out there to compare it to other than Game of Thrones which everyone knows has been a huge success
The Shannara Chronicles Should go on it is unfair to leave two seasons at a cliffhanger. Keep on making The Shannara Chronicles. I wish they could keep the tv shows I love going
Look all shows or about 50 percent of then are either DVD’d hulu or somehow recorded to be viewed later due to work schedules or program conflicts so sure the demographics are going to be skewered so do a survey on how many watches on alternate means and I bet you get a who new set of numbers, if you ask Netflix what their numbers are on how many people watch I bet you have a better graphics number and same with HULU.
I read these books years ago, I’m happy they made a TV show out of them. Please pick it up and do season 3. Please
Please give us a season 3 almost every show with an open season finale gets cancelled. it is not fair.
It is a great show for all ages and I loved it. I really really hope there will be a season 3. Spike dropped the ball with the Shannara Chronicles, if the show has stayed where it was the ratings would have stayed good. PLEASE SOMEONE SOMEWHERE PLEASE DO A 3rd SEASON. WE ARE HERE AND WE ARE WAITING

I swear every TV show I fall in love with and always has a cancellation or didn’t have enough use. And I don’t understand they’re great TV shows they get canceled it gets on my nerves so bad I just want to scream and dream about what happens next it hurts my head and I literally think about it all day Turn 4 months since I’ve watched and I still think about it everyday please bring back Chronicles
