TV show description:
The storyline of this scripted series begins in 1908, when an unexplained event occurs deep in the remote Siberian territory of Tunguska. More than 100 years later, 16 reality-show participants descend on Tunguska — unknowing of the land’s mysterious past.
These contestants are from varied walks of life and attempt to battle the elements (and each other) in a quest to survive the harsh winter and claim a large cash prize. What is initially met with unbridled enthusiasm quickly turns to sheer panic as a series of strange events begin to occur.
The contestants soon attribute the occurrences to ruses set up by the producers, even dismissing the death of a fellow player as an accident.
When a contestant is badly injured and no help arrives, the other players meet the chilling realization that the strange occurrences are not part of the show. With their safety threatened, the competitors must band together in an effort to survive.
The show is hosted by Jonathan Buckley (Jonathan Buckley) and the participants are Carolina (Joyce Giraud), a bartender from Colombia; Johnny (Johnny Wactor), a bull rider from Jedburg, South Carolina; Daniel (Daniel Sutton), a computer programmer from Minneapolis; Neeko, a professional rugby player from London; Natalie (Natalie Scheetz), veterinary assistant from Santa Barbara; Sam (Sam Dobbins), an auto mechanic from Brooklyn; and Esther (Esther Anderson), a model from Melbourne.
The remaining contestants are Tommy (Tommy Mountain), a philanthropist from Boston; George (George Dickson), an accountant from Louisville; Anne-Marie (Anne-Marie Mueschke), a graphic artist from New Orleans; Miljan (Miljan Milosevic), a DJ from Podgorica, Montenegro; Irene (Irene Szuchun Yee), a fashion designer from Taiwan; Berglind (Berglind Icey), a photo journalist from Iceland; Harpreet (Harpreet Turka), a graduate student from Washington, DC; Victoria (Victoria Hill), a sales clerk from Winnipeg; and Sabina (Sabina Akhmedova), a soldier from Israel.
Episode #11 — Into the Oven
Reunited and seemingly safe, the contestants begin to put the pieces together — and encounter yet another mind-blowing surprise.
First aired: September 16, 2013.
What do you think? Do you like the Siberia TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please please please renew. I loved this show when it first aired and almost 7 years later I still think about it wondering if it will ever come back. I loved the whole storyline where it’s reality show turned bad. I dont know of any other series like this or if any others even exist. My questions about the ending remain unanswered and it more stressful than seeing a great movie and not getting a sequel.
This show was pretty brilliant in my opinion. It was the most layered show I can recall. Level 1) The characters appeared to be in a reality show Level 2) There were helpers among the main characters to make sure certain things happened. The producers had a secret agenda beyond it being any kind of a TV show. Level 3) The site was at the Tunguska Event and there were natives, spirits, buildings with pictures of water bears. Level 4) There was time travel and Tesla Towers. Level 5) There were things happening that appeared in other TV shows and… Read more »
absolutely LOVED this show. it needs to come back. some of us are REALLY REALLY TIRED of the crap that’s on now 2st we had to contend with way too much reality tv now Game shows. bring back the intelligent stuff Siberia Ransom and Limitless Lets get back to entertainment
Love the show and would love to know what happens why the host is in the town why the Soldiers are trying to kill the contestants, who the valley man is, is he good or bad, what happened to the other contestants that went on the helicopter like Victoria was she is that plane crash so many questions need to be answered and it would be great to bring it back.
I would love to see all the loose ends tied up – very disappointed that it was cancelled
Yes I too was hoping that they would bring it back so we could find out what was going on…when they ran into the host guy at the end and he was like “you’re not supposed to be here” I’m like whaaaat? Hello Netflix this would be an awesome show!!!
One of the best NBC shows. Bring it back! At least let the faithful followers have a conclusion.
+ one of the best series, when we will see a season 2?
At least have a conclusion to the show, with reasonable explanations!!!!!!
Renew please. Sick occasion all these shows being cancelled after first series.
Come on guys bring back Siberia. We’re all left hanging and waiting to see what happens next.. I loved it..
Bring Siberia back. Like some have said its left us hanging on for the next season to start. Come on guys we want it back
I thought Siberia was in the realm of shows such as The Prisoner, Lost, and Person of Interest. It has the opportunity to be the best of the bunch. I tweeted the creator once and suggested approaching Netflix or Amazon. I wonder where the project stands. I don’t think NBC executives had any idea what they had.
I agree… our family watched it RELIGIOUSLY and LOVED it!!!! We wanted to see another season but antenna started getting bad reception ( our primary tv source) and then the kids sports went into full swing and we didn’t have time for tv anymore. 🙁 But I remember how much I loved it and I just tried looking it up on our ROKU and Netflix…assuming that there were other seasons that we just missed but had wanted to see…but, NOTHING!!! Absolutely NOTHING!!!! 🙁 It was such great show! I just binged through “Once” ( UPON A TIME) and I’m dying… Read more »
This series should have been renewed. It left us all hanging. It was well done, but I think some people may have thought it was a reality show as opposed to being a drama. I liked it a lot and I thought the characters were great.
For real! This still has not been set up to do another season or at least end it for us??? This was an awesome show and I was so looking forward to what happened! Not too many of the newer shows can hook me, but this one certainly did!! Hoping that we can get rid of some of these annoying realitiy shows and put this one back on!!!
