Cobie Smulders enjoyed a long and successful run on the How I Met Your Mother comedy series on CBS. Now, she has a dramatic show on the alphabet network called Stumptown. Will this new show be a hit or a flop in the ratings? Will Stumptown be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka and Matthew Southworth, Stumptown stars Cobie Smulders, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, Camryn Manheim, and Michael Ealy. In the ABC TV show, Dex Parios (Smulders) is a strong, assertive and sharp-witted military veteran who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother with Down syndrome, Ansel (Sibus), to care for. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own. Her military intelligence skills make Dex a great private investigator, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and the police aren’t her biggest fans either. Other characters include Grey McConnell (Johnson), a bar owner and Dex’s friend; casino owner Sue Lynn Blackbird (Cardinal); Dex’s friend Tookie (Martinez), a taco food cart owner; and Lieutenant Cosgrove (Manheim) Detective Miles Hoffman (Ealy) of the Portland Police Bureau.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/26 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Stumptown TV series on ABC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*9/17/20 update: Stumptown has been canceled after an initial renewal by ABC.
After renewing ABC is now canceling. ABC sucks.
I hope that it is renewed. The girl is quirky, which is rather refreshing…something different. Her brother is interesting. He is out of character for how most view someone with Down’s Syndrome. I think it is an eye-opener fr many. The cases are interesting. It isn’t exciting, but the characters are likable and down to earth.
I love stumptown. She’s cool so is brother, bar tender, and cop. Please bring it back..
Love the show up against the Chicago shows so i dvr and watch it day after.
Please renew – good show – good characters – good stories….
Renew A+!
I completely love this show. I have it recording every night and always can’t wait to watch it. I hope that this is not hurting there tating. I look forward to watching. Hopefully I will be able to continue watching this for quite a while
Please keep Stumptown …I truly enjoy that show!
Do not cxl stumptown
All the good shows r leaving like modern family, goldbergs , stumptown etc..there r to many shows like Judge Judy type, divorce court and real crime shows like date line etc…not all of us can afford netflix , etc …
Then there came the ridiculous batchelor n bachelorette shows watching strangers make out. There is so much crap on tv is sad.
So much crap is right. Those “reality” shows are so scripted and so unreal it’s embarrassing. Stumptown has interesting characters, interesting story line and actually entertaining!
