It seems like CBS just wants to keep Jeff Probst out of the country. The network has renewed Survivor for the 2016-17 season. Presumably they’ve ordered two cycles (as per usual) but, at this point, we know that they’ve ordered cycle 33 for sure.
Hosted by Probst, the current season of is Survivor: Kaôh Rōng. This “Brains vs Brawn vs Beauty” season splits contestants into three teams based on intelligence, athleticism, and attractiveness.
The 2016 episodes are averaging a 2.07 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.0 million viewers. Compared to last spring’s cycle, that’s down by around 6%. Last fall’s edition did about the same.
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Blue Bloods, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and Scorpion.
What do you think? Are you glad that Survivor is returning for the 2016-17 season? Do you think it will ever be cancelled?
Survivor has been my favorite show ever since Season 1. I hope it stays on for many yrs. to come. I think I missed 1 Episode, but watched it later.
Survivor is and will always be one of the greatest social experiments! Never missed a show and I watch past seasons over and over…. I’m obsessed
Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m a Survivor junkie! I watch a lot of competition shows, and except for Dancing w/the has beens and all those singing shows I watch most of them. Never missed an episode!
