Tom Hardy is getting historical. FX has announced that its new historical drama Taboo has begun shooting in London.
The series will also air on BBC One.
Created by Peaky Blinder‘s Steven Knight, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a man “who returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father. Driven to wage war on those who have wronged him, Delaney finds himself in a face-off against the East India Company, whilst playing a dangerous game between two warring nations – Britain and America.”
Michael Kelly, Jonathan Pryce, and Oona Chaplin will star alongside Hardy. Ridley Scott is slated to produce.
Taboo has been ordered for eight episodes. No news yet on a premiere date.
