As previously reported, the Taken TV show on NBC has been cancelled. While there will be no third season on the Peacock Network, now that the cancellation has been confirmed by that network, the producers are reportedly peddling Taken season three to other interested parties.
An NBC crime thriller, Taken is a prequel to the Luc Besson film franchise starring Liam Neeson. The Taken TV series adaptation stars Clive Standen as a young, but already lethal Bryan Mills. The cast, which was tweaked after a soft freshman outing, also includes Jennifer Beals, Adam Goldberg, and Jessica Camacho. The drama follows Mills and his team, as they embark upon rescue missions around the globe.
Taken Season Three Could Return On Another Outlet
The Wrap reports:
After being bumped from the schedule last month, “Taken” was officially canceled by NBC on Friday after two seasons.
However, an insider with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that the series — based on the popular movie franchise starring Liam Neeson — is already being shopped around by studios Universal Television and EuropaCorp TV USA.
Taken: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of Taken is averaging a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.764 million viewers. Compared to season one, it is down by about 56% and 46%, respectively. By both measures, it is the lowest rated of NBC’s scripted TV shows. It is largely thanks to international sales that Taken was renewed for season two on NBC.
SCHEDULING NOTE: As we also previously reported in April, Taken season two was pulled from the network’s Friday night lineup. According to the Taken show page, on NBC.com, season two will return on Saturday, May 26th and is expected to finish out its run on Saturday nights.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Taken TV series? Do you feel let down by the cancellation? Would you watch a third season of Taken on another network or streaming platform? Sound off in the comments.
I really love the show and hope another network will take over, can’t wait to see season 3
An enjoyable enough show, although it did end up straying from the original Taken premise.
Taken sealed it’s fate after they got rid of everyone from the first season. A very successful first season by the way. What did they expect?
Great show, I hope it will get saved by another network.
I hope another network picks it up. I really like the show. It seems like all the major networks can do is have a voice or an idol…gimme a break!! Not!!
This is just my opinion.
I could see the show on USA.
I hope another network picks it up. I enjoyed the show.
I truly hope another network gets the show. NBC you go ahead and stay with those dumb I Got Talent type shows. You deserve all the lowest rated shows. Taken is a great show and it always has me wanting more at the end of the show.
I love Taken and I really hope another network will take it over. I honestly enjoyed watching season 1 and 2 just the same. I felt there was a lot of chemistry with all the characters in both seasons.
I am a big fan of Taken and hope it continues on another network. I also hope you will keep us posted. It is one of the best shows on TV!!!
Personally i think season 2 is more enjoyable than season 1. I really like the chemistry with the new cast so i hope it returns.
I am a big fan of Taken and haven’t missed an episode since it began. NBC Seems to rush canceling shows so I really hope another network will pick up this action-packed drama with an excellent cast that have great chemistry.
Season two was a waste of watching time. I tried watching but—ugh and I love those type of shows Season one with the crew was a better concept
And if 3 is like 2. Numbers will be even lower
It’s a good show with an interesting story line, but season one had a better direction. There is room for improvement, but I hope it returns. I find it hard to believe that it rates lower than the junk that seems to never go away.
