Episode 01-01 & 02: Monday, 9/26/11
The two hour premiere attracted a 3.1 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 9.22 million. It was in third place for the timeslots and surely a disappointment for FOX considering the production expenses and promotion.
On the positive side, the two hours showed very good retention which means that most people who tuned in kept watching until the end. That’s a positive indicator for next week.
When you compare this with last season’s 8pm premiere of House, the network was down by 24% in the demo. On the positive side, Terra Nova improved over last year’s quickly-cancelled Lone Star premiere by 238%.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Terra Nova TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Please don’t cancel Terra Nova! I love the show and have introduced it to my brother, who now loves it as well. We have been growing apart these past few years and watching this show together has really given us something to do that we both always look forward to. The special effects are great as well as the emotions given to the viewer from the characters. Terra Nova is what I believe to be the best show on tv. I live for Monday nights!
I have a feeling that most of the people that watch this show don’t have nielson family or whatever it is, Terra Nova is badass. If you miss an episode you pray that it is on demand or that you could catch a re run, so you make sure you catch it EVERY monday, Terra Nova and Sons Of Anarchy are the only shows that I can watch every week without getting annoyed… If you cancel this show I would never watch anything on fox along with a lot of people I know… more than 3/4’s of the people i… Read more »
Please renew Terra Nova. One of the few shows I really like. Cannot wait to see next years series.
i enjoy this show i hope that it gets a chance
Love terra nova. I hope it will be renewed for second season.
I am like everyone else, my family and I love this show and want it back this coming season.
Please don’t cancel Terra Nova. It is one of the best shows on TV that the whole family can watch together. I’m sick of reality TV and this show is great. I look forward to another season. I VOTE PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL TERRA NOVA.
I LOVE Terra Nova I want it to get renewed so bad!!!! Its my favorite show!!! If it gets cancelled I will die !!!!
Please keep Terra Nova on the air! It’s is one of the few unique and creative shows on the air in the midst of a preponderance of vacuous reality (seriously?) shows and cop/lawyer dramas. Yes it’s not to everyones taste but it has a loyal audience and I personally love it. It is one of 4 shows that is on my “must view” list each week. Sadly I’m not and have never been a Nielsen family so I have no official say in ratings and what is watched on television. (Ironically I’ve never met one of these families or know… Read more »
Dont cancel it. Its the best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our family loves this show! Please don’t cancel it!!!
Terra Nova is an awesome show, that my husband and I look forward to watching every week. Please keep Terra Nova!
I thought the show was great….please run it again….I think the rating are pretty good especially when your competing with Monday Night Football. I’m a huge NFL fan and fantasy football geek and always watch the Terra Nova and flipped over to MNF on commercials. I would like to see what would happen if it ran on tuesday evenings.
Terra Nova is one of the few shows that my husband and I can watch with my 11 year old daughter & we all enjoy it. We can’t wait for Monday nights. I really hope they don’t cancel it.
KEEP IT! I love this show as does my husband. We watch it together and were distressed by the fact it was only a 13-episode season! Bring it back please!
