The new series on FX, Terriers, has been garnering some solid reviews. But, how did it do in the ratings? Should it continue for many years or be put to sleep…er, cancelled?
Terriers follows a pair of unorthodox and unlicensed private detectives. They’ll take just about any job, no matter how small or how strange. The show stars Donal Logue, Michael Raymond-James, Kimberly Quinn, Laura Allen, Rockmond Dunbar, and Jamie Denbo.
Per the overnight ratings, the Terriers premiere looks to be underwhelming at best. The debut attracted a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and about 1.6 million total viewers. While cable ratings are typically smaller than those of the major networks, FX has seen much better.

To put it in perspective, in September 2008, Sons of Anarchy debuted to a 1.2 rating in the key demo and 2.53 million viewers. This past March, Justified’s premiere brought in a 1.5 demo rating and 4.15 million.
Even Nip/Tuck, which had sharply declined over the years, averaged a 0.8 in the demo and 1.7 million viewers for its final season — in the same Wednesday night timeslot.
So, Terriers has gotten off to a very poor start. FX is planning to pair repeats with new installments of Sons of Anarchy. It seems doubtful but maybe this will help. Right now, it doesn’t look like Terriers will survive past its first season of 13 episodes.
But, what do you think? Is Terriers worth watching or should it be cancelled? Cancel or keep it?

Keep the show! It’s true, real, and funny as well. The characters have depth and I love the local feel show. It’s not a Son’s of Anarchy., but it doesn’t pretend to be as it’s in a class all it’s own. I look forward to it every Tuesday night. Though the preview spots advertising it didn’t do it justice. The actors are great and I would hate to see it cancelled.
Anytime there is a well written script with interesting charters, it get canceled…Please keep it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg no way ! I love this show ! watched it faithfully. I am going to get rid of my tv if they keep canceling all my shows. They need to put Terriers in a different time slot and try again because it was one of the best shows going.
Keep it – the characters are interesting, have great chemistry and the action is great! The network should give this show another chance, and maybe move it to a different night or time slot. I will miss it greatly – I look forward to watching it every week.
FX has some amazing shows. This one is as good as The Shield or any of the others. Traditionally FX will give a show time to find it’s audience. Maybe there’s too much pressure to make quick $$, and quality has been shoved into the back seat. Whatever’s the problem, I feel more sad than angry. Maybe we’re not just losing an excellent show, but an excellent network as well.
I really likeTerriers and heard it has not been renewed. Such a shame. Great program, character chemistry, good story lines. TV at it’s best. Please renew it or I hope another station picks it up.

This had to be one of the best TV shows I’ve ever followed. Why did FX not advertise it
more? If it wasn’t for Hulu, I probably would have never heard about it. I had no idea
that it was being considered for cancellation, till I watched the last show (which was
fantastic) and then read some of the comments when it was over. I’m picturing the executives at FX resembling the President’s cabinet in the movie Idiocracy!
I really enjoyed this show and can’t believe that FX would cancel it after only one season. Why are we subjected to so many reality shows and the shows that are worth watching, like Terriers, get cancelled?
This is the BEST show on tv. I am so disappointed that it was cancelled. I am praying and hoping that they will change their minds and bring it back. Maybe another station should air it to show more people that don’t watch the FX station. I couldn’t wait till the next week to watch more. I’m keeping my fingers crossed because I will truly miss this show!!

This show is Amazing. It needs to be kept and there needs to be re-runs aired because it truly is a great show. Everything about it is great. The acting. The stories. Everything in it is worth watching and people will see that! It’s one of my favorite shows and I’d hate to see it cancelled after only one season.
Keep the show!! The show is for a selective audience. Most people aren’t intelligent enough to grasp all of the show. Who cares about the stupid boxing show, keep Terriers!!!!!
