The three doctors developed a strong friendship while attending Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and reconvened in Las Vegas where they began their careers and honed their surgery skills. After years of paying their dues, they decided to fulfill their dreams of owning their own practice and set their sights on Dr. Ross’ hometown of Houston. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors to service the community and their pets.
The veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients — both human and animal, the cable channel promised. Dr. Blue’s personality keeps customers smiling and in good spirits while Dr. Ross keeps the clinic running during an often hectic work day. Dr. Lavigne is a skilled surgeon who provides balance.
With a combined experience of over 22 years and a shared love of animals, the three vets thrive to educate the public about the importance of preventative medicine in order to extend the longevity of the human animal bond.

Texas vets was such an awesome tv show. I loved it better than any of the other veterinary shows that are on the air. I really hope it comes back on because I really miss it. It was such an excellent reality show. Please bring it back if it was canceled.
I started watching the show on the ondemand channel. I love it. The doctors are great. They run a wonderful practice. I wish them the best. God bless them and their work.
The comments on here are hot and cold. First, I like a very clean office when I walk into a vet. There are so many diseases out there and it’s better than a filthy place that smells. Next, animals die. They will let their insurance handle the case. No reason to discuss something without knowing all the facts. Next, I am thinking that to be on the show people knew ahead of time and had to sign papers. And the location of this clinic is in a really nice middle to upper income area. People do try to look groomed… Read more »
It seems to me that Commisioner Clark and Dr Hayden who ran the shelter, that these doctors worked at prior to their show, should be demonized as opposed to the Texas Vets. If this shelter was so horrific why didn’t people step in earlier when they saw what was going on!
I really enjoy this show. I discovered it not too long ago. I enjoyed Seeing both sides of the doctor’s lives work and family. I had a number of English Bulldogs. Structurally they are a bit different than most other breeds and thus have to be treated differently and vets need to be very familiar with their anatomy. There are vets that specialize in Bulldogs who I normally would see.. One evening I brought one of my dogs to a 24 hour vet clinic because I was going away the next day, to have him checked out for a slight… Read more »
People are so quick to judge what they dont know and based upon little fact which is really ignorant to feed off of rumors and things they have no first hand knowledge of. I am a client of Dr. Blue’s and he and all of the staff at the clinic are and have been nothing but amazing in my experience. Dr. Blue is just as great in person as he is on the show, it’s/he’s not fake at all and have a fantastic personality. He and his staff have also been amazing with my fur baby, not only with regular… Read more »
I absolutely love this show and look forward to it every week. All 3 of the doctors and their families are fun to watch. You can tell the love and compassion each doctor has for their patients. Keep up the good work. You make me love animals more.
These vets are now being sued for the death of a family pet. For details Google KHOU Houston news, vets, death. Draw your own conclusions as to their effectiveness as vets
RESEARCH Drs. Ross & Blue – They got kicked out of Montgomery County Animal Shelter because of the poor care and neglect of the animals there. And just last month a English Bulldog went board at CyFair Animal Hospital and to get fixed while they were on vacation. A couple of hours after dropping him off they were called and told their pet died. They returned the dogs ASHES to the owners – they were not authorized to cremate this dog – now they cannot get a necropsy to see what really happened. I saw the ribbon cutting ceremony when… Read more »
I definitely like The Vet Life better than Texas Vets. I HOPE they renew this show. I love watching it!!!
Duh, it’s the same show, they just changed the name.
I love the show, just finished watching 2 episodes, love love these drs., they really care for their animals. I love also that they include their family life on the show, Dr. Blue, Dr. Ross and Dr. Lavigne are the Real deal. Can’t wait until next Saturday night!
I am watching the series now. I have watched a few episodes. I have lots of paperwork to finish tonight and grateful the series is on into extended hours. My son is wanting to become a veterinarian which in returns makes my interest increase in shows like “The Vet Life.” I enjoy the relationship between the vets. My son is biracial which makes “The Vet Life” more appealing as well. Its a very enjoyable show. I missed what happened to Dr. Ross. I wish him Godspeed in recovery. My prayers are for his partners and family as well. Any type… Read more »
It’s called “Vet Life” for that very reason.
I think it’s refreshing, tasteful and a wonderful addition to the network.
They factor in the human, pet owner, side of each event as well as the great care for God’s creatures. It gives examples of day to day issues with raising a family and the growth of a successful practice. I appreciate their transparency.
They are the “next generation Vets”, these young men think outside the box and have adopted in this 20th century technology.
May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to Bless them, their families and their patients!
21st century technology. 🙂
I’m not a fan of this show “The Vet Life”, It seems more like a scripted sit-com than a show about vets and the animals they treat, I’ve been taking my critters to vets for over 50 years and never seen such a fake “unlived-in” vets office, It all looks like it’s filmed on a soundstage, Nearly every room is empty. I believe these guys are real vets, but they don’t hold a candle to Dr Jeff or Dr. Dee who actually seem like genuine animal-lovers. I hope Animal Planet has the good sense to cancel it after tonight’s (7/24/2016) season… Read more »
I agree, I work with animals, work with many vets. I question some of what they do, the vet office, the staged medical emergencys. I mean, almost every time they have an outing there is some animal that stands out that they give advice or help. The waiting room is super clean, the people in the waiting room are pampered, dressed up and way to well groomed. Not to mention, ive never, in my life, visited any vet office lobby that holds half a dozen dogs/cats siting so calm and we’ll behaved while waiting to see the vet. With that… Read more »
Read the first comments about these vets. This show is for sure staged. Supposedly they got the gig because a relative of one of the vet’s is a producer on another reality show not because they are stellar vets.
Every animal show has to be staged somewhat and edited before they can be shown to the public. People talk about their clinic as being unusually sterile, perfect or too quiet (not a lot of pets and owners waiting in the waiting room) etc. There is alot to consider when filming this type of show, such as clients and any other people seen in the show having to sign Affidavits to be seen on the show, equipment for filming has to be brought in which takes up lots of space, and clean up and sterile conditions are not only required… Read more »
I love this show, wish it didn’t come on so late though!! Regardless , I still stay up to watch it and record it too
