Airing on the FOX television network, The Cool Kids stars David Alan Grier, Martin Mull, Vicki Lawrence, and Leslie Jordan. The TV show revolves around a loyal but motley crew who live at a retirement community and will break any rule to have fun. Though they may be older, this quartet is far from done with life. The self-proclaimed “cool kids” are determined to make the third act of their lives the craziest and most interesting one yet.
The first season of The Cool Kids on FOX is averaging a 0.85 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.27 million viewers.
Compared to the other FOX TV shows of the 2018-19 season, the sitcom is a middle-of-the-road performer. The series started out really strong but the ratings lost steam as the season progressed.

I looked forward to Friday night TV because of last man standing and the cool kids. Why does every show seem to be targeted to millennials only? Bring back the cool kids.!
I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I thought the cast played off each other very well. I especially liked Sid! I was disappointed it was being cancelled.
Really enjoyed this show. I wish who ever makes these decision would realize that not everyone watches or likes trashy reality shows. Going to miss this.
This is one of the best shows on TV. I love this show. In this sad world, we need laughter. The characters are hilarious. I hope they change their minds and bring it back!!

every time there is a good show on, it gets cancelled! seems like only horrible shows get renewed! no wonder we don’t watch much network tv anymore!
We loved Cool Kids. It was funny, refreshing, and the actors totally amazing. Being in that age group it was fun for us and we could actually see this maybe happening to us someday. With all the negativity in the world today, the Cool Kids gave us a few moments of laughter when watching TV. Sadly to say, the reality shows that are on are over the top trashy sometimes.
Hope someone will pick up this show because these actors are incredible and need to be out there working again.

Just like with Brooklyn 99, Fox cancels another great comedy. Heres hoping that another network will also pick up Cool Kids, truly bummed!
Love watching Cool Kids. Don’t think anything in this time slot is going to be a huge ratings success. Sorry to see it go. Sick of reality shows that are obviously staged, which is probably what they will replace it with. This was really refreshing. The age group they are targeting 18-49 are mostly not home watching TV early on Friday night, so nothing is going to get high ratings.
So sad that Cool Kids was cancelled! Love the show- finally a funny show that actually made me laugh & feel good & it’s gone. Who makes these bad decisions? Agh!!
I would have watched a season two. I was nice watching a comedy where the characters were my age group. You have to remember the age group that is the most important…18-49. Thank you to the cast and crew for giving me a season of laughs. I usually don’t watch comedy because I can stand watching disrespectful children.

I am sad to hear this. I play this on Hulu autoplay at night even after I have seen the episode. Funny, warm silly and I am going to miss it.

Unbelievable! I can’t imagine why Fox would cancel this very funny show. My family loves it. Hope someone else picks it up.
I will miss this show. Interesting, sometimes over the top, but always funny. Great charactors that were given a chance to really show us who they were. Another good show disappears too fast. I should be used to this by now. I always think a show I like will last longer than it does. Thanks FOX for giving it a shot.
