If you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.
The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.
This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.
On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.
The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.
What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

Where was The Firm last night (6-16)??? We recorded it and what a surprise we got today. Golf went long and then a Betty White show filled in until the news. BOOO!!!!
Keep the firm. Im tired of watching programs that I end up falling asleep on The Firm is really interesting I dont fall asleep its the “edge of your seat mini series”
what a great show!!!! We have followed it over reality tv which tends to entertain people who do not want to think! Can’t there be one program for those who want to think and be entertained by such a great writer as john grisham!
Great show. Poor time slot. Typical of NBC.
I think the firm rocks and just finished watching the entire series OVER AGAIN on hulu. Outstanding acting, excellent plots and subplots, superb connection among the characters – using lesser characters that keep coming back (like Louis) (all of which SHOULD keep a series alive) the problem is not the show but the networks – they keep jockying for position – find a slot against a weak program, leave it there and hype it – advertise it – I’ll be terribly disappointed AGAIN by a network if they cancel this series
My husband and I look forward to The Firm and would be very angry if the series was cancelled. We think this is one of the best shows on TV and feel it must be the networks fault if it has not been put in a strategic position to be successful. We agree that moving the airing date and time has not helped. We really have to work hard to find out when and where the show will air. We DVR’d this weeks episode and when we attempted to watch, found that Betty White’s stupid “Candid Camera with old folks”… Read more »
love the firm…put it in a time slot and leave it there….you moved it and half the time it isn’t on even sat…
I loved this show!!! A stellar cast, good plots and writing. Bring it back!!!!!
My friends and I would hate to see this show cancelled. I agree with other commenters about the scheduling. How can NBC blame the show for lower ratings when no one ever knows when it’s coming on? Just tonight, I saw The Firm listed on my DVR’s list of recorded programs. Instead of The Firm, though, it was golf!
I think they should keep The Firm. It is one of the only shows worth seeing on TV today. I am so sick of the stupid “sit coms” and other garbage . The Firm has been pre-emptied on the Weekend several times and tonight the golf did it. Maybe they should put it on during the week.
NBC can go to hell it is the network for people with a 50 iq whats next cancel biggest loser then i would say that cbs will really start kicking nbcs dumb ass.
The Firm, Prime Suspect, Harry’s Law? SERIOUSLY???? All good shows – especially Harry’s Law and the firm? I mean, how many more reality shows do we need? And don’t we all have enough reality of our own??? What irritates me is that it was mentioned that NBC’s looking for specific age demographics . . . what the heck is the problem with 50+ watching? Huh! What exactly does NBC think that 51 year-olds as myself should be interested in watching, then? I enjoy a good story, a good twist, a good laugh, and these had that often. What horrible decisions!… Read more »
I love the firm. It is good suspenseful drama that gives me the same feeling of anxious that I got from the long running 24. The cast is super. And it is something to watch other than silly sitcoms (I won’t watch sitcoms), nasty shows in primetime, and other no redeeming quality shows. If you are afraid to run it for a thinking audience…sell it to USA they seem to not be afraid of a good drama. I know shows are suppose to appeal to 18-25 yr olds who someone has said buys all the goods in America, REALLY. They… Read more »
The Firm is one of the best new shows, and we are upset that it won’t be renewed. How come the really good, really intelligent shows keep getting canned??
Love this show, don’t get to see it on Saturday night every week, but watch on demand.
