The Last Kingdom will continue its reign. Netflix just announced it has renewed the TV show for a fourth season.
Based on Bernard Cornwell’s novel series The Saxon Stories, the historical drama follows Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon), the son of a 9th Century Saxon nobleman. After Danish invaders seize six of the seven kingdoms making up what we now think of as England, only Wessex still stands. The cast also includes David Dawson, Emily Cox, Ian Hart, Tobias Santelmann, Thure Lindhardt, Millie Brady, Alexandre Willaume, Julia Bache-Wiig, Joseph Millson, and Peter McDonald.
Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for season four of The Last Kingdom, but you can watch the season renewal announcement below:

I think The Last Kingdom is as good as Game of Thrones! The characters are so real and each episode makes you want more! Watching Uthred struggle while constantly being disrespected by Alfred made me crazy but Uthred was a man of his word.

With Netflix cancelling the marvel shows this show will be a good reason to keep Netflix. I like the acting as well as the huge battles they have every season. Nice job on keeping this show around.

So pleased that there is to be another season!! I thought that was it, I was devastated thinking it was all over! The casting, production and story line are phenomenal. It has reawakened my interest in history, thank you!
This is the best show ever! I wait and wait for each season then binge watch it as fast as I can! I’m addicted to the story and even though history tells us of the outcome, I want to be able to watch this series through the end.
