Last season, The Last Man on Earth had a positive start in the ratings but then the numbers declined as the weeks progressed. FOX renewed it for a second season anyway. Will the numbers drop lower or will they rise this time? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
The Last Man on Earth begins in 2020 — a year after a deadly virus has swept the plant. Phil Miller (Will Forte) believes he’s the last human alive but soon discovers he’s not alone. The rest of the cast includes Kristen Schaal, January Jones, Mel Rodriguez, and Cleopatra Coleman.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/24 update: FOX has renewed this comedy series for a third season. Details here.
5/16 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of The Last Man on Earth averaged a 1.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.99 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Last Man on Earth TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
This last episode was terrible. Where were all the other characters?
I really love this show! Its so unique and quirky! I really love the truly human qualities of all the characters and the cliff hanger kills me.
Please don’t cancel! My wife and I have been watching it on Hulu and now see all the fun we had been missing out on. I can’t wait to see if Phil and his brother are reunited, and how sibling rivalry will plays into the future for Phil as we should all then come to realize why Phil is the big jerk he is.
Please don’t cancel this show. I’ve even watched the repeats. Not many shows that can make me laugh out loud like this show. I LOVE LAST MAN ON EARTH. Excited to see if his brother comes back to earth.
I love this show!!! I watch it online because I’m in New Zealand. I’m dying to see what happens next!!!
Funniest show on TV. Please renew it.
I love this show. I too along with many people watch it on a different day and media. Please take the modern day way of viewing into consideration. Do not cancel this show. PLEASE!
I love this show, but my viewing won’t count because we watch it on Hulu which runs it a day later than the show airs. So hang in there Last Man On Earth, there are a whole lot more watching you that aren’t being counted.
Enough with this misinformed argument already!! Fox knows exactly how many times each episode of all of their shows are streamed on Hulu. Just because those numbers are not released to the public and added into the numbers above, does not mean that Fox doesn’t count online viewers.
And you know this because you are a FOX employee? If not, then you are just another misinformed viewer yourself.
The Last Man on Earth is the only TV show I watch. How do I like it? Oh wait. Does Netflix count? I have a love/hate relationship with Phil… no, Tandy.
I enjoy this show. Last Man on Earth, is one of 2 tv shows l watch. It’s slow and quiet, but l really like it. I hope it stays on air!
Forever was weird. I could tell it wouldn’t keep. Morbid death wish dude, dry boring and dusty.
The first 20 minutes of the pilot were brilliant. Forte and Schaal were perfect for their roles, and the concept — while obviously recycled — was still witty, intriguing, and funny. Instead of continuing to exploit the dark humor potential in absolute anarchy, the series quickly evolved into some sort of awful sitcom-soap opera mashup. By the beginning of season 2 (what? it was renewed? seriously?), the social satire had evaporated, as had most of the humor, leaving us with a back yard full of dull characters. How can Fox possibly have thought THIS series was better than all the… Read more »
I am absolutely bored by this second season. The show’s biggest mistake was having Phil and Carol join up again with the rest of the season 1 gang. That story was over. The show would’ve been far more interesting with them moving on into another adventure. New people, new problems. The way it stands it’s just the same season 1 all over again. And, besides, none of the supporting characters are all that fun to hang with.
Please never end this ! How to solve problems and well it’s entertaining to me and I’m 66 years old!
They will renew a crappie show like this but they will not renew a excellent TV show like forever thus us why I don’t watch a lot of TV anymore given a choice the network will choose the wrong one I don’t even care about last man on earth all want us for the network to bring back forever their are only a handful of TV shows I watch and forever us at the top if that list bring it back right now and to the net works I say don’t be stupid bring forever back immediately bid nit sooner
There’s something wrong with your brain, Michael. First, Last Man on Earth isn’t a crappy show. Second, Forever is on ABC, not Fox. So your argument isn’t even valid. Third, try using punctuation and proofreading your post sometime.
