NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

DISGUSTED! Thoughtful, complex, emotional, relevant, topical programming can’t muster up against brainless, inane, fake reality programming. So many clever programs dumped over stupid, duh programming! KtZJZ

Why do networks cancel good shows and keep lousy ones? I’ll miss THE VILLAGE!
I am so disappointed that ” The Village” was cancelled. It was a great series with a wonderful cast and excellent story lines. NBC should rethink their decision and go with a Season 2. If not, I think NBC will lose a lot of viewers.

I think it’s disgusting that NBC would cancel The Village and The Enemy Within! They were two of the best shows on TV. NBC should reconsider their cancellation. We finally get two excellent, clean shows with great storylines and it’s ridiculous NBC would cancel them. I hope another station picks them up and whatever shows NBC replaces them with sink!!!
The Village was my favorite new show last year. i can’t believe it’s cancelled. Same with all my other friends …. everyone loved it. Sux !!! Finally a great one and NBC blows it AGAIN !!!

I think you need to give the show another season. I very disappointed to hear it is being cancelled. Even my husband loved to watch the show. Check out how many are watching it on demand to catch up and see what happens next season. Please rethink your decision and go with a season when you keep it consistent in time.

yes i loved watching the show. real life issues in a good format. loved that there was not a political view story line etched into its story line. please reconsider for us people who love a good story of community instead of division.
