NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

What the heck is wrong with NBC! Here comes a real quality show that is not a cookie cutter copy of so many other shows. The cast is excellent with quality story lines that mirror real life. I thought NBC knew quality shows, but this does not prove that. I sure hope the execs at NBC rethink their decision. If they don’t, hopefully another channel sees the potential and picks it up. This show deserves to come back.
THE VILLAGE was one of my favorites! What a great show!! I can’t believe NBC cancelled it. There are so many ‘reality’ & bad shows that need to go and keep shows like The Village! I am very disappointed in NBC’s decision to cancel this. Hopefully it’ll get picked up by another network or Netflix!!
Very very upset that this wonderful show was not given more of a chance…so many worse shows that were renewed that make no sense.
So sad to hear The Village is being cancelled!!! My wife and I are always looking for quality programming and stumbled on this series. Of course we DVR everything so not sure stays are correct.
I loved The Village, and I’m sorry they didn’t renew it. It was a sleeper that apparently not many got hooked on. Great cast and story..

I love the show and very disappointed to see it may be cancelled!! Enjoyable, relaxing to watch and no hidden agendas. No sci-fi, no mystery, no worrisome drama, timely, etc. We want more!!
I just watched the final episode. I am really unhappy to hear that they cancelled this show. Why? What a GREAT show. The network really needs to rethink their decision.
