NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

This was the best show on tv this year. I even watched the series again episode 1 to the end. I can’t believe it’s been cancelled. Here’s hoping another network picks it up.
Bummed that it is cancelled! Missed the finale due to a tornado in our area and really want to see what happened! Wish they would have kept it!

Big mistake NBC!! This show is gripping and wonderful. You did not advertise it enough and changed the time slot 3 times. Amazing acting, brilliant writing. You need to reconsider. Bring Dominic Chianese back and advertise- all the Soprano fans will tune in. We need The Village.
I just watched the Village on demand and LOVED it!! I think it’s as food as This is Us. Sooo disappointed there will not be a season 2!!
The show the VIllage is wonderful, refreshing and realistic. It has something for everyone, it touches the young and old. Always cancel the good shows and keep the crap on.
So disappointed the Village is not being continued.The cast ,acting, writing and stories were heartwarming. Looked forward to each episode. Please reconsider a second season. Fans look forward to seeing what happens next to all the characters. Hope another network will pick up.
So sad that it was cancelled! It was a great cast and interesting characters and story lines. I think it was a mistake NBC :/
The show was awesome. Haven’t enjoyed a television show this much in years. I am devastated about the cancellation. I certainly hope another station will pick up the program and keep going forward.

I LOVED watching The Village…. another show that has interest, cancels after one season! Should at least have two seasons on all shows, then a decision to cancel if necessary. Surely one season does not warrant cancellation.
So sad to see this show did not make the cut! Especially when there are much less appealing shows that were renewed! This show was awesome with multiple story lines to build on! Each character had their own unique story, yet were all somewhat tied together. BIG MISTAKE on this one!

I am absolutely heartbroken that the Village was cancelled. It was a great, realistic cast that really make you feel.
Real emotion, please, please, please bring back The Village .
