NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I love this show and am very disappointed it was cancelled. I do hope you hear what people are saying and bring it back! In my opinion there are not many shows that I like to watch. The village is realistic and wants you to continue watching to see what happens next! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!

The Village was such a great show. Great actors! I am sooooo mad this wasnt renewed! Why? I get started on a new great show and you cancel it? Ugh! NO HAPPY WITH NBC!
Wow! I absolutely loved this show! Watched the entire first season in 3 days. I had no idea it even existed until a week ago though when a friend recommended it. NBC definitely didn’t advertise it enough! It is completely on par with This Is Us and A Million Little Things. I really thing they need to reconsider!!! It was so wonderful and I would be so excited about a second season!
Would love to see a season 2 this show was real emotional and needs to continue on.
I loved this show! So sorry it’s been cancelled. Please reconsider. So many possibilities for more episodes. I love the concept of family being made up of chosen family members. So true. Again, please reconsider another season.

I LOVED this show!! So disappointed that they didn’t even give it a chance. Loved having a different type of drama which wasn’t set in a hospital or police station or fire station. Those are all so tired and overdone. Hope another network picks the Village up because I would definitely watch!
Why is it the shows that having murdering and mutulation are renewed but shows that have heart and soul are cancelled. Shows that show love, caring, kindness and depth in the script are not given a chance to find a following.
It is so sad that a show like the Village didn’t get the the publicity that the commercial /reality shows get. What does this say about our society and the execs that run the networks.
