NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
Loved, loved, loved everything about this show…VERY disappointed in NBC… hoping another network picks it up and runs with it…Whoever made the decision isn’t living in the real world
I loved the Village. The stories were real and compelling. I was looking forward to season 2 to see where the writers would take the characters. I am very disappointed the show has been cancelled when NBC hangs onto shows of far lesser quality. It deserved another season.
This is very sad to hear, The Village was a great TV show. Very heartbreaking actually! I looked forward to every Tuesday night knowing there was something worth watching!
Love this show! The dialogue and acting are real and engaging. The storylines are compelling. Let there be a season 2!!!
I can’t believe they are cancelling this show. I couldn’t hardly wait for the next week after one ended. This is real life and I love these characters and want to hear their story. I don’t get how all the good shows get canceled and stupid ones are left on. This needs to be renewed!!!
I can not believe that the network would cancel such a good show. I am sorry to see this wonderful shows apparent cancellation. I guess this is the reason why CBS is rated tops because NBC does not know when they have the makings of a really great show.
I loved the village, we need a season 2.
So disappointed that this well written and engaging show was bit renewed by NBC. Hopefully another network will see it’s value and provide us with it’s quality storylines and characters.
Yes it was a great show.they always cancel the Good show which is stupid
LOVE The Village! Cannot believe that it has been cancelled. Please think about this again!! Such a great show. All of my associates at work look forward to viewing it each week.
I’m seriously disappointed that they didn’t renew it. I love this show it’s writing and actors are amazing. They need a second season!!!!
The Village is an excellent show. It should not have been cancelled. Bring it back!
Please renew The Village! The show and cast were exceptional and needs a second chance to be seen.
Please revisit your decision to cancel “The Village”. One of the best real life dramas without too much drama, great casting and so relatable to so many. Please give it one more season and get the word out there sooner if you do.
The Village was my favorite show, so of course NBC cancelled it. It will probably be replaced by a show involving cops, doctors, FBI agents or vampires. Netflix here I come………..
I love this show with such a phenomenal ensemble cast! Looked forward to it every week…I hope there will be a Season 2….relationships between the characters is heartwarming…why do wonderful shows like this get canceled??? Hopefully another network will pick this show up!
