NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
I cannot believe NBC cancelled The Village. It seems they put these feel good shows on and then just rip them away for no good reason. We looked forward to watching it every week. The actors were great!! Then networks end up putting on stupid reality shows. Shame on you!!
Loved The Village! Hate seeing it cancelled. Was looking online to see when it was coming back.
I loved The Village. So mad it’s cancelled!
Soo sad. Love that show.
Ask me why I’m not surprised. The network conference tables are only interested in putting out heartless reality shows and cop drama. Run, Run, Run executives to the conference table for another medical closet drama. I’m so over these. Why not challenge yourselves a bit or is this asking too much of yourselves (yeah that pocketbook just screams, doesn’t it)? Will any of these networks rise to the occasion? You are what you put out. A good pure-hearted show can do a lot for a household, amongst other things. At this point, I will keep reading my books because television… Read more »

I am just reading that The Village TV series was cancelled. I am soooooo heartbroken!!! Literally, I was counting the days waiting for the fall season. I just looked to see when premiere would be ….only to learn the bad news. This had become my FAV show!!!!! I agree…. so many crappy shows on the air. This felt different and refreshing. Loved the characters, the shooting…. so incredibly bummed!!!!!!!!
Can’t believe The Village was cancelled. Would absolutely have watched a Season 2. Really hope another network picks it up! Excellent cast and writing.
I can not believe that NBC has cancelled The Village
It was the best show they had on !! My Mom and I watched every episode, sometimes twice if it was showing at a different time, lol. Why is it that the leave the crappy shows on and cancel the good ones.
I’m not sure they understand normal people. I guess they shouldn’t just look at the numbers !
I I really enjoyed the village I sure would like for someone to keep up this and put another season on it was very enjoyable better than those reality shows
I am not happy about The Village being cancelled. I thought it was a great show as did several people I know. No accounting for taste I guess.
