NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

That sucks that the village was cancelled. I loved that show. I taped it in case I was working when it was on. I’m so disappointed that it was cancelled!!!!
I’m so mad. This was one of my favorite new shows and it had a great stories and kept me excited for the next episode. They should have given it another season!

THE VILLAGE was the best show on TV last season. I can’t believe it was cancelled while several very poor shows remain. I am disgusted.

I am very disappointed that The Village was cancelled…excellent premise, great stories, loved the actors…now I will permanently worry about all those loving characters. Any chance it might be picked up by another entity? I hope so. Good job to all connected.
I absolutely loved this show!!! I loved the diversity and camaraderie. This show dealt with some of today’s REAL issues and presented them to viewers from a different prospective hopefully allowing viewers to open their hearts and minds. Kudos to the writers!!! Please bring it back!!!
This is such bull ****. The village is such an amazing show that shows such real time issues and trials that we as the viewers have gone through or will go through. It’s had such an impact on my life and this breaks my heart to hear of its cancellation. Please someone, anyone pick this wonderful show up so me and my wife and kids can watch, reminisce and be reminded that we aren’t the only ones. PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!!
The Village was such a fantastic new show! Me and my husband enjoyed every episode, we were looking so forward to season 2!! Have been wondering why we haven’t seen anything about The Village. Now we know. So absolutely shocked! Upset! Such a great new show that would have brought so much to so many. Damn shame it’s been cancelled before it could made a difference

I agree, so sad to hear it was cancelled, could hardly wait for a new season. Heartwarming, caring, a loss for evening TV. Told my daughter about the show she had started watching and was anxiously awaiting a second season. Please bring it back, with so much violence happening it is heartwarming to see the care, concern and love.
