NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I really liked The Village, can’t believe they cancelled it. There are so many other shows that are just awful and I can’t believe this one didn’t do well. I don’t think enough people knew about it.
well well well..you finally got a great show that showed mental illness and other real life stories and so what do you do? of course..get rid of it…you say no one watched, well if you had the right advertisement about the show running on the right channels, everyone would of tuned in..but noooo, you just tune it out…whats wrong with you? this was a real life story of everything..teen pregnancy with cancer and ptsd and love and struggles…..all tv ever has is crap…comedy thats not funny…..and no real life tv shows…..remember 30 something??? there is a need for this…….you just… Read more »
I can’t believe The Village was cancelled !!! It’s hard to imagine that ratings were low on such good actors and it really was a feel-good program…still can’t believe it was not renewed. One of my favorite, along with A Million Little Things.
I loved The Village. One if my favorite TV shows last season. I’m really disappointed that it’s not returning.

I loved this show!!! So sad to see it get cancelled. They finally started showing decent shows with real life substance on TV again and they cancel them all. Wth? So sick of crappy reality TV and animated adult cartoons. We are intelligent adults that would like actual classy entertainment.

I am very disappointed that “The Village” has been cancelled. How can we request to bring it back. It is a heartwarming program.
I am so disappointed they cancelled “The Village”. Who do they poll for some of these shows. I cannot believe there are so many stupid shows continued. This was a show that many of my friends and family watched. BRING IT BACK!!!!
I am so disappointed that the show was not renewed. I think it would have received more viewership as people told their friends how good of a show it was. They are just so many shows that people can’t watch everything so they go by word-of-mouth and by the time that word reaches some people it may be too late I suppose

Yes ,I would watch it along with my mom my sister and many friends ! We have all been looking for the air date .We are Very Disappointed ! I’m So tired of them taking away the great shows ! Leaving on all these to me Stupid reality shows like the Batchelor ,Bachelet ,Teen Mom etc. Leave the good wholesome shows on !!! Very disappointed !!!
I hear you there. They take off good shows and put on reality or sitcoms. My sister and I watched this and New Amsterdam together her at her house and me at mine. We would cal each other and watch together. This really sucks.
Super bummed that The Village was cancelled. Love love loved it. Couldn’t wait for season 2.
