NBC has introduced a few new dramas in the 2018-19 television season, but only New Amsterdam has scored a second season thus far. The Peacock Network’s latest entry is The Village TV show. Will this homey series manage to bring in the Nielsen households? Will The Village be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An NBC drama series, The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/22 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
*5/30/19 update: NBC has cancelled The Village TV show so it won’t return for a second season.
I’m getting sick and tired of NBC canceling shows after one season. Better get better people running the show over there or I’ll join my kids and stop watching all network television
why was this cancelled, one my most favorite series.
Please don’t cancel!!!
Loved it
This show was so good why would you end it it wasn’t even really givin a chance please make another season
I love this show! Great acting & story lines. Please don’t cancel!
Please bring back The Village. It was the best show EVER!!!
Love this show!!!!! Please don’t cancel !!!!!
I absolutely loved this show !! It is so heartfelt, dramatic, romantic, and uplifting ! I think the acting is wonderful and the cast has fantastic chemistry. We need more shows like this on television that don’t focus on violence and backstabbing and supernatural phenomenon. This is a show about real people who are easy to fall head over heels for. If NBC does not renew I hope and pray another station picks it up or Netflix or something of that nature. The fans will support the show no matter what!
I fell in love with this show! Loved all the cast members and the relashionships that each and everyone had with the other, Please NBC do not cancel this show!
This is a fantastic show !!!! Love it as much as This Is Us and A Million Little Pieces. Can’t believe this is being cancelled !!!! Shame on you NBC. Bad bad decision.
