Tommy won’t be back on patrol next season. CBS just announced that the network has cancelled the cop drama and won’t be ordering a second season for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The Tommy series revolves around a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles. Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco) uses unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland. The CBS drama also stars Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, Thomas Sadoski, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, Joseph Lyle Taylor, and Vladimir Caamaño.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Tommy averages a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.85 million viewers. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the drama is the network’s lowest-rated scripted series.
The 12th and final installment of Tommy airs tomorrow night.
What do you think? Do you watch Tommy? Would you have watched season two on CBS?
CBS is making a
Mistake to cancel tommy. The acting was
Very good
Really LOOKING FORWARD to season 2.
VERY disappointed. Think this show deserves better . Show was entertaining, kept my interest.
Definitely would have watched another season!!
I liked this show and would watch season 2
I liked this series and would have watched a second season
Stupid decision. This was a good series
Why? This was good series. Stupid
Always a shame when an intelligent Drama is cancelled. There are so few quality new series. Will definitely miss it.
very disappointed at cbs, looking forward to season 2, terrible, ill b watching another channel, no more cbs,
I loved watching it and will miss watching it
One of my favorite shows
Oh, come on now! CBS, give Tommy a chance. At least put it in a desirable time slot and pick up 12 more episodes. This is the most refreshing scripted cop series in ages. Edie Falco is a genius in her craft. The supporting cast is perfectly casted. The scripts are well balanced. You’re making a big mistake not giving the demographic above 40 this great entertainment.
This was an excellent drama. Too bad.
I am so…. disappointed in CBS for canceling “Tommy”. It has been one of my favorite Spring new series of 2020. I was really looking forward to Season 2!
I really enjoy watching Tommy this season and would watch another season. Maybe you should have put it on a different night to get more viewers. Can’t stand Bob and A, Man with a plan, Broke, and will not watch them unless there is absolutely nothing else on and then maybe not then
