Tommy won’t be back on patrol next season. CBS just announced that the network has cancelled the cop drama and won’t be ordering a second season for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The Tommy series revolves around a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles. Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco) uses unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland. The CBS drama also stars Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, Thomas Sadoski, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, Joseph Lyle Taylor, and Vladimir Caamaño.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Tommy averages a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.85 million viewers. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the drama is the network’s lowest-rated scripted series.
The 12th and final installment of Tommy airs tomorrow night.
What do you think? Do you watch Tommy? Would you have watched season two on CBS?
I thought Tommy was well done and yes I would watch Season 2 Truly think this show deserves more than just 12 episodes. Please renew!!!!!
Tommy was well done and well acted. Good police show with lots of issue facing police and a woman in charge.
Isaac surprised Tommy was canceled. My wife & I enjoyed the show. We certainly would have watched another season. The ending for season 1 left us with questions on what would happen next? We hope it’s renewed or another station starts showing it.
I was surprised to learn that Tommy was canceled. This was one of few shows I looked forward to. Please bring it back.
Please do not Cancel Tommy !! Great Show!! Think I will Cancel CBS , not showing very good shows.! They Cancel Good Shows !! CBS GOING DOWNHILL !!!
Absolutely we would have watched another season of Tommy! We are NOT happy that we won’t see more and I hope these comments go to the top person in charge of CBS! NOT happy with YOU CBS, and we watch your programs more than any other network! No streaming, no nothing. ONLY watch regular TV!
If Tommy had not been running opposite Law & Order SVU maybe there would have been better numbers. That said, I didn’t much like it at first but kept watching, hoping for improvement and some of the later episodes were more interesting . . . and of course Edie Falco is always worth watching. Perhaps a second season, some script tweaking and better placement could have saved it. I don’t know why some of these studio executives can’t see potential beyond first season ratings. Cagney and Lacy is a good example of a show that was circling the drain but… Read more »
why delete tommy this is crap of course the ratings were the lowest you aired it at 10pm most people have to sleep to get up for work. bring it back and change the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed every episode of Tommy
Could’ve been another NCIS.
Please keep it running
I am very disappointed that Tommy was cancelled. I wait all week for Thursday at 10pm(ET) to watch this series. It is a great drama and I will miss it. Please bring it back. Edie Falco was great in this role. Thank you.
Why would CBS cancel a show that we love to watch. They
build it up so we would watch it. Then drop it like a
hot potato. Ok CBS bring it back and give it a chance
on another night. Right now there is not to much to
watch on CBS
One of the best new shows of the season. Why do you always leave the crappy shows o n and cancel the decent ones? Please change your mind!
It was the best new show of the season as far as I’m concerned. I hope they change their mind. Love Edie Falco.
Nooooo! I just learned that ABC cancelled Tommy! How can this happen? This is one of the few shows I looked forward to watching every week. Bring it back please!!!
