Last night marked the season finale of the Tyrant TV show on FX. The episode left things up in the air but will there be a second season to resolve them? Will the series be renewed or will it be cancelled instead?
Tyrant revolves around the youngest son of a dictator who returns to his war-torn country in the Middle-East with his American family. The drama’s cast includes Adam Rayner, Ashraf Barhom, Moran Atias, Jennifer Finnigan, Anne Winters, Noah Silver, Mehdi Dehbi, Fares Fares, Alice Krige, Salim Daw, and Justin Kirk.
The series debuted in late June to 2.1 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The numbers took a significant tumble in week two but have gone up and down as new episodes have been unveiled. The 10 episode season ended up averaging 1.55 million viewers with a 0.6 rating (a 0.55 actually).
While Tyrant hasn’t been a big ratings success for FX, it has done relatively well. I suspect that Tyrant will be renewed — not so much on the strength of the show’s ratings but because several of FX’s other shows are doing so poorly.
The Americans was down 33% year-to-year in viewership, The Bridge is down 37%, and new shows Married, Partners, and You’re the Worst have all been ratings disasters. In addition, the venerable Justified series is ending soon after six seasons. FX needs new shows and right now, a series with acceptable ratings is likely looking like a success.

I have watched from the beginning. I could hardly wait each week to see what would happen next. Please bring back in the fall. This show is excellent.

This is an excellent show and should be renewed, even though it’s cruel and violent, but apparently that’s what’s gong on in the world today.
Renew..i think this is why i stopped watching television.they keep cutting shows as soon as they finally grab me.if they do this I’m just going to sit around and wait till the third season to start season one..
Tyrant is a must see show and should be renewed. It is a reciting full of suspense show. To think FX would leave it without resolving Bassams fate and that of his family, not to mention the US involvement in the coup attempt would be a shame. I wad sorry Tariq was not killed as he was the original cause of the former leaders failure to turn the kingdom into a place you could hope would be a symbol in the Middle East. Please bring it back for a second season.

I think that Tyrant should be renewed AND I am team Jamal. Barry was wrong to come back only to stab his brother in the back. He should have worked with him from behind the scene OR just listen to him. He didn’t want the show. I had my doubts about the show but I am clued to it. Please bring it back.
Great show, we love it and look forward to watching each week. The middle east setting with the state of the world the way it is, this series has great potential. The character casting is perfect. The dynamic between Jamal & Besam is off the chart. Please renew.
I have followed the entire season, and it’s an extremely disappointing outcome of a show with a lot going for, all of which it has left unfulfilled. The acting is really bad (save perhaps for the villain Jamal, who almost becomes the one you start rooting for because he is the only one who isn’t a cliché-infested cardboard figure), the directing is lacking the touch, and some of the dialogue is cringe inducing. I would love to see it renewed. The characters have been fleshed out superbly. The acting has been top notch, particularly the two brothers and Leila.

I don’t know wats up with the ratings! BT for real this show is up to date! And the twists are wonderful it is only logical that it should be renewed.
I will be so disappointed if Tyrant does not come back for a second season. I have looked forward to each new episode. It has been refreshing to have something different to watch! Please renew this show!! It is unique and timely.
