Is all well that ends well? TNT has cancelled its Will TV show after just one season of ten episodes. The decision to cancel the young Shakespeare drama series comes on the heels of last night’s Will season one and unintentional TV series finale episode, “Once, Bright Angel.” The first season of Will premiered on TNT on July 10, 2017.
The Will TV series stars Laurie Davidson as William Shakespeare. The TNT cast also includes Olivia DeJonge, Jamie Campbell Bower, Mattias Inwood, Ewen Bremner, Colm Meaney, William Houston, Lukas Rolfe, Max Bennett, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.
Will: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Will averaged a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 392,000 viewers. It is the lowest rated of the scripted TNT TV shows we’ve been tracking.
Deadline has confirmed the Will TV series cancellation. You can binge-watch the enter first and only season of Will on the TNT website.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Will TV show? Should TNT have cancelled or renewed it for a second season? Sound off, in the comments.
Of course one of the smartest shows on tv has been cancelled. Ridiculous. Fingers crossed for a rescue from Amazon, Hulu or Netflix.
Will on TNT is an amazing show and I wish the network would reconsider renewing the show for another season. Sure, some of the costumes, hairstyles, and music are contemporary, but that’s no reason for literary snobs to look down their noses on this show. I plan on showing the poet battle in the tavern (episode 1) to my students when we start the Bardology Unit.
I really hope they reconsider, I loved the series!
I guess because this show actually required its audience to think, unlike reality shows and endless sitcoms, it received low ratings and TNT wouldn’t give it a chance. What a bloody shame. I loved the show.
I’m heartbroken that Will has been canceled! It was an amazing show and I would’ve loved to see more of it!
Extremely disappointed by the cancellation of Will. It was an amazing ride! Bring it back! I am 53 and an avid Shakespeare fan. This show was fun. TNT, you made a huge mistake.
This and GOT was the only series on TV i liked! Back to reality TV shows i guess. and football.
A show that is not a cop or medical show and you cancel it? I love historical fiction and this is a good show! So very sad to hear it’s cancelled. I guess I have to watch more streaming shows that don’t unexpectedly cancel after one season. TNT, I’m disappointed in you!
I really loved the series. Thought it was very ambitious and should have been in a better time slot as it was difficult to find.
This is just like these so called big tv companies. They bring you in with a good show then cancel it and put on a crappy show that runs for years, because you don’t have to think to watch it. Just another reason to watch original show put on by Netflix,Amazon Prime,Hulu,or any of the other companies that care about content as well as ratings.
Very disappointed in this. I was really looking forward to another season!
I’m so sad they canceled Will. I really looked forward to seeing it every week. I thought it was so well written, the sets were beautiful and the acting fantastic. Please someone pick it up. They just put it on way to late and it didn’t have a lot of advertising or something in front of it that might keep people on that channel at that time. Most people I asked had not even heard of it and when I told them to watch said it was just on to late.
This breaks my heart!! While it took a sec to hit its stride, they really nailed it with gorgeous language, beautiful costumes, the life or death London of the time, and bohemian devil-may-care theater actors and theater goers and the beautiful, passionate, stunningly bee-stung lipped cast playing them all. MORE!!’
I am so disappointed in the cancellations of Will. This was the first show in a very long time I have looked forward to watching every Monday night for 10 weeks!
I loved this show! For the first time in a long time I found a series to count down to the next episode! I am so sad that it will be cancelled!
