Airing on FOX, Firefly mixed elements of the Old West with science fiction and a cult classic was born. The show was also infamously cancelled after one season. Now, Syfy is combining science fiction with the Old West with their Wynonna Earp TV show. How will it do in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures in the town of Purgatory. A woman with unique abilities, she and her posse of dysfunctional allies work to bring the paranormal to justice. The series stars Melanie Scrofano, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Tim Rozon, and Shamier Anderson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
7/23 update: Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a second season. Details here.

What do you think? Do you like the Wynonna Earp TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love this show! I look forward to watching it every week. I think it’s a really great show. I would be really upset if there wasnt a season 2. Im definitely looking forward to seeing the show progress. I love Doc Holiday, SO HOT!!
My S.O. and I look forward each week to escape to the Old but New West. The cast dynamics are still developing & have great potential. Appears that many “reveals” are still simmering in the kettle, especially the Deputy and the “Special Paranormal agent” true roles in the future. Foreshadowing of the photo of ” The Seven” in the Judge’s chamber can’t help but pique one’s curiosity as he reeks of nefarious intent. There’s class in detailed story development and it’s unfortunate some viewers don’t relish the anticipation that gradual storyline builds. Love it, let’s give it the chance to… Read more »
hi i think that the show should definitely be renewed it has a bit of everything and itr keeps me wanting more i love the show.
I sure hope this is renewed. Love it. Gotta mess with your demographic. I am 56, my daughter is 20. We both love the show and cast.
I love this show, please renew it!
I love this series, please renew it!
Maybe the should do a supernatural and Wynonna Earp crossover
Be interesting
I totally love this show! Hope it gets renewed. Doc Holliday is my guilty pleasure
You’re not kidding lol
So far, so good; the episodes continue to show improvement… so, my spouse and I keep watching.
I like this show a lot, but it has a lot of issues. I think the biggest issue is that the world seems so small. There’s a bar, a house, and a trailer park all within a tiny town that we never really see. It feels claustrophobic, and there’s no world building at all, unlike a show like Firefly. Many of the most successful or well-loved sci-fi shows have vast, unpredictable worlds where anything could happen around any corner. Without that, the audience’s imagination isn’t sparked enough to wonder what awesome thing could happen in the next episode, and they… Read more »
I hope they give this show a chance to develop a growing , loyal following and dont just cancel it after one season. i do agree with some of the other comments ( Doc is the most interesting character) but i can also see the great potential the show has. With a little bit better writing ‘Wynonna Earp’ can become a ratings hit. I like it ; please try some better writers. Heck, I’m available ! 🙂
I wanted to like this show, but it’s an uphill slog. There are so many ridiculous elements the viewer is asked to swallow, e.g., Wynonna and sidekick walk into the demon compound and demand to see one of their number. Wtf? Why didn’t the demons wipe the floor with them right then? End of story. They obviously don’t consider her much more than a minor annoyance. I just find her tiresome. The only character I enjoy at the moment is Doc. The producers should have just given the show to him. He’s far more interesting.
Agent Dolls is no ones sidekick. Wynonna is his deputy which makes him her boss. I think all the characters are rather interesting but I’m on pins and needles waiting to find out exactly what Dolls is and why he has to take those government injections.
My guess would be that Dolls is an experimental Revenant who has agreed to work for the government for some as-yet-undetermined reason and that Doc suspects as much. To my relief, the show has finally gotten better, but Wynonna still loses her gun with exasperating regularity – at which time she’s completely vulnerable. *sigh* I do wish she could kick butt a little more. Looking forward to seeing how Willa’s arrival changes things.
I have to agree with Laura about the writing. The stories are choppy and not believable even for someone who is willing to suspend belief. It is a bit campy but it’s really not clear if that’s what the writers intended or if the writing and acting is just that bad. I disagree with the author of the article above when they compare this with FireFly. While FireFly was true Sci-Fi with some Western elements, Wynonna is a blend of the supernatural (lots of demons) where the demons seem to have adopted less of a Western and more of a… Read more »
I saw the beginning of the pilot, where it’s supposed to take place at night in pitch black but was CLEARLY shot during daylight with a filter on the camera and thought that must’ve been the cheapest special effect I’ve ever seen in my life for a professional show. It was so ridiculously bad I just stopped watching.
I agree about some of the cheap effects, but i do hope the show gets a 2nd season to iron out the flaws and EVOLVE into the great show that i see the potential it has for.
I honestly don’t know what to make of this dark, campy, show. It’s got kind of a “SPN” look, & the sibling thing going on, but what a slow start! I’m willing to give it a try, but the writing has to improve. All historical accuracy is out the door, of course.
