It seems that the end is near for the Younger TV show. According to one of the show’s actors, there won’t be an eighth season of the TV Land series.
A romantic comedy, Younger stars Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Hilary Duff, Molly Bernard, Peter Hermann, and Charles Michael Davis. The story centers on single mother Liza Miller (Foster) who passes herself off as a 20-something, to land a job in the publishing industry. As Liza’s personal and professional lives mesh, keeping her secret becomes more difficult. This season finds Kelsey (Duff) growing into her position as publisher at Millennial Print. Meanwhile, Liza and Charles (Hermann) are finding their footing, now that he no longer runs the business.
The sixth season of Younger averaged a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 580,000 viewers. Compared to season five, that’s down by 39% and 14%, respectively. Season six finished airing in September 2019.
Younger was renewed for a seventh season in July 2019 and, according to Duff, that will be the end of the show. In a recent interview, Duff shared,
It has been tough because I’m supposed to be in New York right now filming last season, and we have been on hold for quite a few months. Things are starting to shoot in New York and open back up again. I think production is feeling confident that in the next month or two we can get back to our schedule and shoot our last season.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, Huff says that the cast hasn’t been able to read scripts for the final episodes. The actress is confident that series creator Darren Starr will deliver a satisfying ending. She said,
He writes amazing (scripts) for women and we feel so empowered to be on the show and to be playing the women that we are playing. They’re all very different, but with very strong and flawed qualities — so I’m sure this last season will not disappoint.
While Younger may be coming to an end, a spin-off that revolves around Duff’s character is in the works.

Younger is amazing all the characters are top-of-the-line I don’t know who I love more so I have to tell you I love them all and I hope it continues to be a shame to end this Siri brings a lot of joy into a lot of homes During the pandemic I watched the whole season twice so you know I love it

I really love Younger, it’s inspiring to me, I’m 48 mom that naturally looks like I’m in my early 30’s so I can relate. I have been watching since the show started. I was hooked since I saw the show’s trailer. I binged watched it on Netflix after TV LAND was take off PlayStationTV. I was thrilled when T.V Land was added to YouTube TV. Younger is the only reason why I watch T.V. Land. I’m looking forward to when it airs. I have been watching the old episodes just to get my Younger fix.
Give us an eighth season….and a ninth and a tenth! Ok, I’ll settle for an eighth! Just don’t let this bethe last year! Love that show!
I love the show but I swear Kelsey still hasn’t grown up and I’m over it…t just became the Kelsey gets mad Liza has to fix it show. The show is supposed to be about Liza but the whole last season was what’s going to happen to Kelsey what’s going to happen to Kelsey Kelsey did this what’s going to happen to Kelsey. The man is losing his family business and I give up my shares to save Kelsey like over it. I just hope in this last season they clean up some of this and actually give some depth… Read more »
I’m not sure how I feel about the show ending, but I do know they made a royal mess of season 6. Seasons 1 through 5 were crisp, sharp and you held your breath because you didn’t know what was going to come out of someone’s mouth or what was going to happen next. Season 6 had none of that. There are too many characters for the length of the show. Season 6 also didn’t deliver on Liza and Charles, one if the best romances I’ve seen written for tv in a long time.
Seasons 1-5 were amazing. The ratings in Seadon 6 went down because the writers made a mess of it. They could redeem themselves by putting the story back on track and understand where the story should go based in the characters and not because they were playing favorites with the actors.

I love the Younger show and hate to see it go. It was very inspiring and showed that women could be successful and achieve their dreams. Sutton and Duff were the best. I loved the whole cast. I would watch a spinoff with Duff. Thank you for all hard work these seasons.
I really hate to hear that the show is coming to an end. I am 61 years old and I’ve loved the show from the very start. I think Mr. Star is such a brilliant writer. Its no wonder I’ll always remain a fan of the Sex and the City series. I find his writing of both shows are refreshing, on point for the times and the conedy is priceless. I think it should most definitely go for a eighth season! Please! I want to know how this love story and company ends! I will also watch a spin off as well!
I love Younger and the cast! I hate to see it end! Not sure I would watch the spin off, as my favorites are Liza and Charles!
