As the most-watched broadcast network, CBS has enjoyed enduring success with its daytime game shows, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. During primetime though, their unscripted offerings have been of the competitive reality variety, like Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Big Brother. Buoyed perhaps, by ABC‘s reboots of classic game shows like To Tell the Truth, Match Game, and Pyramid, the Tiffany Network is now dipping a toe in the primetime game show pool with its new Candy Crush TV show. Will this game show, inspired by the mobile game franchise, be a hit or a miss? Will Candy Crush be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A CBS game show hosted by Mario Lopez, Candy Crush follows contestants as they try to match three or more colorful candies to earn points, overcome obstacles, and move up through over 2,000 available levels. Teams of two employ mind and muscle to compete on a large, interactive game boards, powered by next generation technology. Their goal is to conquer the Candy Crush game and claim the champion crown.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/3 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR views within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Candy Crush TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS?
Candy Crush is the best show ever!
“Candy Crush” is an awesome game show for everyone who likes candy crush like me, Mario Lopez is the best host! Please renew! “Candy Crush”
“Candy Crush” is a fun show for the family in the evening when everyone is home. Please renew ! “Candy Crush”
Please renew candy crush. It’s a great show, very energizing and fun. It’s a great prime time family game show. Can be enjoyed by the whole daily.
I liked Candy Crush far better than Price is Right. It was far more fun to watch. Already miss it.
I am so sorry to say that Candy Crush has been cancelled by CBS after ten episodes due to poor prime time ratings
I think the show’s done like dinner. After 8 episodes, CBS finally decided to burn off the remaining 2 last night (Saturday), instead of keeping it going for 2 more weeks.
Based off the numbers that Candy Crush is getting, it would be an insult to every other good game show out there if CBS actually does renew it. Should’ve been pulled and burned off on Saturday nights after the first few episodes. The fact CBS is actually continuing to air the remaining episodes of the entire season on Sundays goes to show that either A) they’re complete idiots and don’t care about low ratings, or B) they have nothing else better to air in its timeslot as a replacement.
Please get rid of the show it’s mindless
Why would any network especially one like CBS put such vapid crap on the air? Even for a Summer replacement show, this is the epitome of “****** TV.! It’s loud, has stupid graphics and the deep voice that bleats “Candy Crush” is hurl inducing. Shows like these (I include past crap) such as That’s Incredible and America’s Funniest Home Videos should be used to interrogate and torture terrorist suspects at Gitmo. It’s the dumbing down of America. This makes one pine for such TV failures as My Mother the Car and Me and the Chimp. I know, I’m dating myself.… Read more »
Les Moonves would kill for the numbers that Regis and Million Dollar Password used to put up in primetime back in 2008 and 2009, which was the last time CBS actually tried a game show in the 8-10 pm hours. Back then, MDP was getting as many as 10 million viewers per episode, with as high as a 2.2 in the coveted 18-49 demo. But no, that wasn’t good enough for Moonves, so he canned it after just 12 episodes. Now compare that to Candy Crush, which can’t even maintain 3 million viewers or even a 1.0 in the demo.… Read more »
It won’t last
I cant stand this show. Ifs so fake
Wow is this programming terrible! Very bad did they want to put this program on the air? The skills test were unbelievably a reaching by the produce is trying to create this from my name only. This did not transfer more over from the game to a live game show. It was a total failure it won’t last
My husband and I play Candy Crush together (all 3 games) and we got such a kick out of this, we were cracking up! We are hoping for a season 2 so we can apply to be on the show. Great job, great idea.
Did anyone really like this show? It so badly mad the people playing seem to be actors and not real people,
