Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior: CBS Series Cancelled; No Season Two

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior canceled season twoA day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.

While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

Should Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior have been cancelled?

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.

There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.

TV show supportA baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.

The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.

What do you think? Are you sorry that Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think this one didn’t catch on?

I was incredibly fascinated by this show. I love how it was centered around the BAU. That is what drew me in. The characters were wonderful! I am way more interested in the behavioral analysis aspect than the crime fighting. Seeing episode 13 left as a cliffhanger was awful. I’m dying for a second season! I wish the show had not been cancelled. I watched all of the episodes in just a few short days. Very disappointed that it was not continued.

I don’t understand why any idiot would not like this show! Yet alone cancel it. It’s a spin off of criminal minds not identical which is the point. This team seems more real and detected they show remorse compassion and a side of themselves being real people a real caring team devoted to their work and eachother something never really see in Criminal Minds. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge fan of criminal minds but I was starting to like this more the show the team the characters. Give it another try bring it back one season no one barley heard of and ratings on it should not make the rest of us that do enjoy it suffer. What first season ratings is ever really high? Maybe was lack on getting the word out for people to be hyped up on a new show. I don’t get at all why it was canceled

I can’t understand why this show was cancelled. I think screw the ratings. Tell how do you get the rating any how? You just don’t go into home or send out questionnaire if you do your not sending them to the right people. Screw the money too. Your shows gets paid from the commercials. So why cancel????? I loved it!!!!!!!!!!! I think that a lot of other people did too. I just watch the whole first season on Netflix and the last Episode, Death by a Thousand Cuts was to be continue. Now that really SUCKS. NO SECOND SEASON to finish the last S1:E13. OOOOOOOO come off your HIGH HOSRE and FINISH at least the EPISODE for your loyal views. You just can’t leave your viewers hanging. I think if everyone would stop watching shows on CBS. Your ratings would hit rock bottom, but I know your viewers want stop watching. I know I won’t watch CBS anymore. I have shows on TV on SAT I can watch that are still royal to their viewers. ABC, NBC,YOU ECT. puts on shows that are just damn right STUID, but you come the next season and right back on AGAIN. So where is the ratings for them. PLEASE TELL ME!!!! I would like to know the answer to that. So PLEASE email me back with that answer.. I think all SAT. Co. should give the viewers a choose to watch whatever local channel they WANT to watch. Thank you, but no thank you….

I’m upset because the last episode there is a to be continued, and I’m left hanging on the edge of my seat because there is no continuation. Common! This was a great show. At least finish the first episode of season two so I know what happens in the two part episode.

I agree. I have been looking for season 2 and just found out that it was cancelled after season 1. I didn’t like the idea that they left such a huge cliff hanger and then not get the chance to see what happens. I sure would like at least to have let them do a final show above season 1 to finish what they had started.

I was really getting into it, look my fav is still criminal minds and in the beginning of SB I felt that Forest was over acting and being too intense, and that the rest of the team were not as involved as in CM but I was getting use to it and enjoying it, sorry to see it end so quickly, they should’ve given it more time.
