NYC 22: Cancelled CBS Series Returning

NYC 22 on CBS canceledTo no surprise, CBS cancelled their low-rated NYC 22 series a couple months ago. Airing on Sunday nights, the new cop show averaged just a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.67 million total viewers. The network pulled the series in May after four episodes.

Though CBS hasn’t “un-cancelled” the show (as they did with Unforgettable), they are bringing NYC 22 back to the schedule. They’re burning off the remaining episodes on Saturday nights this summer.

The network is kicking off the show’s return with a pair of installments this Saturday, July 7th, at 8pm and will run another set on July 14th. Then on July 21st, they’ll run just one installment, coupled with a Hawaii Five-0 rerun. The Eye network may keep burning off the remaining NYC 22 episodes after that but haven’t announced their Saturday schedule that far in advance yet.

CBS ordered 13 episodes of NYC 22. They aired four of them in April and May and currently have five scheduled for the next three Saturdays. Hopefully they’ll keep airing the series so that the last four will also see the light of day.

What do you think? Are you glad to hear that NYC 22 is coming back? Will you be watching on Saturday nights?

I enjoyed the first four episodes and hope they uncancel it. I put in on the same level as Hawaii 5-0, CSI Miami, CSI, NCIS, etc….

THIS IS ANOTHER GREAT SHOW THAT’S BEING DISCARDED BY CBS WHILE THERE ARE SO MANY SHOWS WITH MINDLESS STORYLINES THAT ARE CONTINUING TO TRASH UP THE MAJOR NETWORKS. I HOPE TBS OR TNT WILL PICK THIS UP AND CONTINUE TO ENHANCE THEIR NETWORKS WITH THE EXCELLENT DRAMAS THEY HAVE NOW!
I HOPE ONE DAY THE CABLE NETWORKS WILL LEAVE THE LIBERAL NETWORKS IN THE ASH BIN WITH THE CRAP THEY TRY TO BRAINWASH OUR KIDS WITH.

THANKS FOR LISTENING

You make a super good point, Mary. If TBS or another network took up the reins of NYC22 – I’d be thrilled to watch it there.

Hope they renew/uncancel the series.
And that other Adam Goldberg series, Breaking In, needs to get Odette Annable back (now that House is over).

Sad….The show had immense promise.
I’m glad they are back, I had purchased the first four episodes already on my Vudu service.

I couldn’t get past the pilot episode. I don’t need another Rookie Blue show.

Craig,
I wish you had given it more time – it’s not really about Rookie cops.. it’s about REAL human nature and finding a way to fit in and still be unique as a person.

I hope you give it another try on these Saturday night airings of some of the remaining episodes.

I would much rather them UNCANCEL CSI Miami. That show was way too good to cancel. Like the above comment, WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH CBS cancelling CSI Miami????? Bring it back!!!! I will continue to watch the rest of NYC 22. I liked it but I would much rather have CSI MIami come back, PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I think this is good; however it would be better to uncancel CSI:Miami and bring it back, it was a great show. What is wrong with CBS? Just saying, they have gone crazy or something!

This is awell done series, I hope one of the cable companies pick it up. Those use to “reality/fake” TV shows normally don’t have the G2 to grasp good programing.
