Airing on FOX, Firefly mixed elements of the Old West with science fiction and a cult classic was born. The show was also infamously cancelled after one season. Now, Syfy is combining science fiction with the Old West with their Wynonna Earp TV show. How will it do in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures in the town of Purgatory. A woman with unique abilities, she and her posse of dysfunctional allies work to bring the paranormal to justice. The series stars Melanie Scrofano, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Tim Rozon, and Shamier Anderson.

Besides the Syfy cable channel, NBC Universal owns Bravo, Chiller, E!, MSNBC, and USA Network. But Syfy/NBC is stuck in a publicity hamster wheel, selling Wynonna Earp within the same channel it airs in. Imagine what the ratings could be if the series was promoted in NBC’s other channels and more television viewers discovered it. Does Syfy/NBC need a rocket scientist to figure this out?
Renew, renew, renew. LOVE it. Very entertaining.
