Although it was off the air so long that it felt like The 100 TV show had been cancelled, now it’s back for a fifth season on The CW. Like last year, the littlest network decided to hold the post-apocalyptic action series for mid-season. How will it do this time out — well enough to justify another installment? Will The 100 be cancelled or renewed for season six? Stay tuned.
A dystopian CW sci-fi drama, The 100 stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Henry Ian Cusick, and Tasya Teles. The story centers on a post-apocalyptic group of survivors, who believe their people are all that is left of mankind. When they return to Earth, they realize they aren’t the only ones. **Status update below.
Season five kicks off six years after the season four finale, with our heroes still separated. While Bellamy’s (Morely) team is in space, Clarke (Taylor) is on the ground, and hundreds are trapped in the bunker below. When a prison ship descends upon the last habitable spot on the planet, The 100 must unite to reclaim their home. Expect alliances to shift as war threatens to wipe out the remnants of humanity.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
8/8 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of The 100 on The CW averaged a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 955,000 total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The 100 TV series? Did you think The CW would cancel or renew this TV show for a sixth season?
**5/7/2018 status update: The 100 is renewed for season six on The CW. Details here.
I don’t like how they skip a week so much. I love this show but when they skip I tend to forget it’s coming on and the days it’s not coming on I’m ready to tune in. It’s very annoying!
This will be the last break, episode 9-13 should be on every week up until August 7th. And it’s also gonna be on an hour earlier so instead of 9pm it’ll be 8pm 🙂
Can’t believe how much the ratings have dropped. 0.728 is the lowest it’s ever been. The episode last night was very good though 🙁
BBQ ( Gonna start a new thread) The siblings have been doing this for 2 and a half seasons now. It seems like it’s time for them to finally forgive and move on. They have another war to win, no need to add more drama on the side. But it seems like in the next episode Bellamy might finally stand up to Octavia and hopefully reach her. But from what Bob said she might get worse, so I have a feeling Bellamy will just bow to Octavia and become apart of wonkru that’s my guess, I don’t know where else… Read more »
I’m personally not fond of Octavia so I’m not hoping for a reconciliation. At this stage that seems too unlikely. The writers would have to work a miracle to redeem her and fix their relationship. Some people have been theorizing Bellamy will have to kill her this season and I’m kind of hoping that happens. It would be brutal for Bellamy and great for the story. Yeah, ClexaCon isn’t about Clexa. It’s about celebrating LGBT characters and people. There are some pretty dedicated folks on Twitter who have vowed never to give up fighting for its cancellation, so they’ll likely… Read more »
A lot of people aren’t liking Octavia this season at all. She’s gone power hungry. I feel like Octavia is now a dictator, she’s telling people not to speak out against her or wonkru, she’s shooting people that wanna leave wonkru. She’s gone to a whole new level of dark, I thought Bellamy could of been the only one to bring her back from that dark place, but I do believe in the end Bell might be the one to end O’s life if she finally decides to kill Echo, Clarke or somebody he cares about deeply. Bell even said… Read more »
Well, there it is. Below a million. I knew it’d happen eventually but… still sucks to see our streak break.
Hopefully we don’t drop further. Not that it really matters considering we’re getting a 6th season regardless.
Also, interesting observation here: Some of my comments didn’t get downvoted as much others. I wonder if my username had something to do with that.
I thought you were a Clexa fan that was still invested in the show to be honest LOL I’m sad it finally flew below a million 🙁 I’m hoping it picks up again, but like you said it doesn’t matter we got our 6th season! Most likely your comments didn’t get down voted because your user name is Clexa, to be honest I bet most of the people that down voted on positive comments are Lexa/Clexa fans. They’ve been doing it sense season 3. It was very hectic last year, if you look into the season 4 comments.
I actually participated back in Season 4. You and I talked a few times there as well. That -the experience with all that hostility- is why I decided to use “Clexa” as my username. I wanted to see whether the antis were going to be equally as aggressive towards someone they believed to be their own. I’m not surprised to see they didn’t down vote me as much as you. Also I figured if I got into a heated argument and they wanted to talk smack about me (like they did last season), they’d have to say “Clexa is (insert… Read more »
Oh! I was wondering why I didn’t see you on here! I remember some of our conversations from last time 🙂 And it definitely looked like they down voted me more then you because of your user name. I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen any Clexa fans on here insulting the show or the characters. Maybe they finally gave up, I mean it’s been a long time since Lexa died and we’ve got renewed 3 times since then, so it looks like they lost their fight. What did you think of the episode “Shifting Sands?”
I’m as surprised as you! I don’t think they’ve given up, though.
I’m conflicted. On one hand I enjoyed hearing Diyoza’s backstory, the episode cementing O as unhinged and perhaps beyond reach, the tension between Shaw and McCreary. At the same time, however, the plot barely moved forward and that bothers me as we’re nearing the halfway mark and we still haven’t gotten to the meat of the story.
What about you?
I’ve seen a few Clexa fans on Twitter speaking up for Lexa the other day on JR’s page “Bring Lexa back” or ” Lexa Deserved Better” blah blah blah… but other then that I have’t seen them anywhere else. I’m loving all the actors they picked for this story line, they’ve done such a great job. I liked hearing the back stories too and also how they came up with something refreshing like the parasitic bug. Kane looked like he was ready to tell Charmaine everything about Wonkru at the end of the episode, I wonder if he will or… Read more »
It does seem things have died down compared to the years prior. But there’s still a very vocal minority active on Twitter who constantly bash, promote blackouts, and plead for the cancellation of the show. I’m not surprised that Kane seemed willing to talk. Octavia did almost kill him. I think he realizes she’s a problem and only Diyoza can strip her from power. Based on the promo for the next Ep, I’d guess he does provide her with information and that will be how they come up with the idea of offering defectors food and shelter. That’s what bothers… Read more »
So far this season I’ve fallen asleep towards the end of the episode and haven’t felt the need to go back and watch it. When it started it was a novel idea. But now it’s run it’s course. By now they would be growing food and planting more trees along with popping out babies.
Samantha told me about The 100. Move over Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, NCIS, The 100 is now on my Do Not Miss list. A definite Keeper.
Found The 100 on NETFLIX. Watched season 1 – 4. Now watching season 5 on air. Fantastic show Great even. Do NOT cancel as it is very good, exciting and great acting and scripts. Should be an award winning show.
Love it as much as I do NCIS, Scorpion, SVU, Gotham, and Criminal Minds. The 100 is a DO NOT MISS show.
Ratings looking good! I’m happy it’s staying above a million 🙂 I wonder what they’re gonna do for season 6 though.
So far so good ratings-wise! May we continue on this streak.
Some people are speculating aliens. I wasn’t sure at first but they had that line about Eligius III needing blood alterations because of exposure to two suns…
Aliens? I wonder if this show will take it that far? That’s interesting though. I have a feeling the next villain might be the 300 cyro prisoners on the ship coming down, and that’ll most likely brew up another war. But it’s The 100 anything can happen. 🙂 I just really want to know what JR has in store for us next season, hopefully it’s something new and original!
The 100 has been renewed!
I know!!!! I’m so happy and shocked!!!! I didn’t think we’d find out this soon! 🙂
And there’s the drop. At least we’re still above a million!
Let’s hope the ratings stay above a million! 😀 But I’m still afraid I’ll drop next episode, Octavia was such a bad-a**! I can’t wait to see more!
This is an awesome show, the best show on the CW. I would like to see a season 6. Great story line and characters
best show after Jane, Crazy Ex, Dynasty, The Flash…
ratings will drop premire always but they will drop
My opinion : Five seasons is enough….
Amazing!!!!! Would have loved to have seen better Demo numbers but jeez the 100s fans are amazing!!! (I am one of them!!) So happy that it has outdone the average ratings of arrow and riverdale!! That shows growth in a Tv show to be able to do that
1.431 Million? That’s an amazing jump from last season. Hopefully there isn’t a big drop off after the premier like in previous seasons.
ALOT of fans have started watching The 100 this past year which is great! But I have a feeling the rating won’t hold, it’ll most likely drop a bit. But I’m hoping not by much! 🙂 But if it keeps this rate up there’s a better chance it might be renewed!
No doubt they’ll be a decline, but we can hope!
I think given the promotion the CW has given the show this year, it’s an automatic renewal. You don’t put that amount of effort/ money into a show that’s failing especially when it’s never gotten promoted before.
Yes, exactly! We won’t know until the end of next month if it’ll be renewed or not. I still have hope for a season 6 though 🙂
1.4 million is the most we have had in awhile! There has been shows that had bad ratings in the past, worse then The 100 and they got renewed.
Maybe cause it’s after the flash
