In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, a new docu-series, America Divided will premiere Friday, September 30, 2016 at 9:00pm ET/PT on EPIX. American Divided is created by Solly Granatstein, Lucian Read, and Richard Rowley, with executive producers Norman Lear, Common and Shonda Rhimes. DividedFilms produces in association with RadicalMedia.
An eight-story, five-part TV series, America Divided features “…narratives around inequality in education, housing, healthcare, labor, criminal justice and the political system.” Correspondents include: Common, Rosario Dawson, America Ferrera, Zach Galifianakis, Norman Lear, Amy Poehler, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jesse Williams, exploring aspects of inequality, related to their own lives.
The five, 60-minute episodes will air as follows: premiere on September 30 at 9:00pm ET/PT, 8C; Episode 2 on October 7, Episode 3 on October 14, Episode 4 on October 28, and the finale on November 4.

And “Grey’s Anatomy” star and former teacher Jesse Williams goes back to the classroom to study the battle to fix inequality in education and learns of a daunting school-to-prison pipeline. I’ve watched two episodes of the America Divided series and they are an excellent source of information. . I keep abreast of the news, politics, etc. so I am aware that this series is reinforcing and clarifying information we’ve seen and it shines light on information we haven’t seen. I highly recommend the series to my family and friends because I believe we have to be aware of what’s going on in the country.
