The ratings for The Blacklist TV show took another big hit last season, dropping nearly 40% in the same day demo ratings. Now that the drama series will have enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package, will this NBC series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of The Blacklist averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?

I love the Blacklist. James Spader’s character is endless fun!
Ah, come on NBC! Don’t cancel it! If the ratings are that bad, maybe it’s because it’s on the wrong day of the week! There are so many stupid shows on TV, new and old, which nobody understands why they’re still on. Blacklist is so different. If you just have to cancel, bring it back and at least give it an ending! The storyline of The Cleaner and Dembe are left hanging…what a waste to do to all the characters! What a waste to do to those who are avid Blacklist watchers! Please don’t cancel the show. Try another day… Read more »
This is one of the best shows on TV! It seems like every time a good show comes along it is cancelled for some idiotic show / replacement. Don’t cancel a good thing. This show could go on for 10 years and still be good. The writer’s need to go more in depth with the “Cleaner” and her life; also “Dembe” (spelling?) and his past and his life and family (daughter, etc) – maybe he was blackmailed into poisoning ‘Red’? If the show is cancelled, the writer’s should incorporate Red, Liz, the FBI team, and all others mentioned here in… Read more »
Please don’t cancel the show!!!! It’s so good.
Do NOT cancel this show it’s one of my favorites.
Me and my neighbor both watch it together every week, we don’t do anything the night it is on. We would be very sad if it was no longer on.
