The ratings for The Blacklist TV show took another big hit last season, dropping nearly 40% in the same day demo ratings. Now that the drama series will have enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package, will this NBC series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of The Blacklist averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
5/11 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a fifth season. Details here.
leave the show on it is a lot better than redemption
It is a very good show. I would be surprised if it were to be cancelled. I am a viewer that does not commercials so I am not in your viewing statistics. There are devices that record shows and plays them back commercial free.. This is probably the reason for the low ratings.
Renew. Have watched all the episode s on Netflix and I am hooded and want more.
No!! Specially after the this finale!! It was great! Do not cancel!
I love the show. Do not cancel it!

I just finally caught up on all the seasons. You must not let it end like this! Great actors and thrilling storylines. Bring it back.
Definitely Another Season/Seasons!! This Show is Good!! The Writing, The Actors Makes This Show Interesting!! I Loved it From the Start!! J. Spader is “Reddington”!! There is No Other!! And the fact That “Elizabeth” May Very Well be His “Daughter” Makes This Show Even More Great w/The Emotionally Side to It!! I Love It!! Continue On!! Btw I Watch “BL Redemption” and it’s Ok.. But My thing is Put That “Writing” to The Great Show You Already Have, “The Blacklist”!!
