Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

Everything is peach and sweet, not until the Reagan kids along with Jamie are kidnap, one by one. While Jamie is dealing with all of his bruises and injuries. He still manages to keep the faith with the young ones alive. “We will not let them go until they leave our own go.
Blue Bloods is the best cop show on TV
This program has great acting and riveting scripts. I appreciate that violence is not overdone and the family chemistry adds to much. I buy every season on DVD. Thanks for giving us another season!

Not only do I watch re-runs but also keep up with current shows. Blue Bloods is a series America really needs & I always feel better after watching each & every show.
The show has run it’s coarse. It’s time for Tom Selleck to get back into Westerns, and except for “Hell on Wheels”, it would be nice to see a weekly Western, or turn on the 20th Century TV show. How about a weekly TV show about Capt. Frank Hammer, Texas Ranger, in the 1920’s and 30’s, and Tom Selleck the actor….

Blue Bloods is my absolute favorite show on TV. And I record all the episodes and watch the reruns, too. I hope it goes on 10 more years!
Cannot begin to tell you how absolutely great Blue Bloods is!!! Have followed Tom Selleck through his acting career (love Jesse Stone series as well!!)…he just gets better every year. The entire cast members are so perfect for their characters. Do not want this series to ever end; best show on TV:)!!
