Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

I really love the Blue Bloods show a lot. I enjoy the show when Donny Wahlburg, who is a good father in the show gets to play the hard core detective Danny Reagan who chews out criminals out who don’t explain the right answer and he has to grind it into them until they get the answer.

Excellent program… Family oriented, profanity clean. Of course we have to remember this is CBS and they’ll do whatever they feel is best, regardless of how many of us are diehard viewers of Blue Bloods.
Our family loves Blue Bloods. It certainly makes sense that what so many viewers LOVE, IE Blue Bloods, the ever knowing CBS will cancel when they want to. Too bad this might be the last season… it’s too clean and family oriented to be cancelled… But… CBS ya know!!
I think Blue Bloods should come back every Fall. It’s one of the few decent shows on anymore. I’m tired of all the trash and violence.
I really enjoy Blue Bloods ,I am a big fan of this TV show,I watch it every night that it’s on and I can relate to this family especially the Sunday night dinners where the Regan family get together after church just like my parents would do too with our family.
I really enjoy this show not to violent ether like most shows on TV today.
Keep it for another 2 more seasons maybe up to 10 seasons or more.

Since New York is where I was born & I have relatives in the Police Dept. I can’t think of any other show that best describes how events unfold in New York City. It is well written and keeps you in suspense. The Sunday dinners are a fabulous scene for families to watch and reflect how we all should spend time with each other while also supporting each other. I think bluebloods is one of the best programs around. I love the storylines and I love the ending nestable in the family gets together. Please please please continue to show blue bloods forever

I never watched the show, then I was visiting my daughter in Phx and they had it on. Now I am hooked. Record all the old ones and waiting for the new season. I love it!!
