It looks like Chad is moving to California. The new TBS comedy series has been awarded a lucrative tax incentive to move second season production from Vancouver to California.
A single-camera comedy, the Chad TV show is created by writer/executive producer and showrunner Nasim Pedrad. The Iranian-American actress also stars in the title role. Co-stars include Ella Mika, Saba Homayoon, Paul Chahidi, Jake Ryan, and Alexa Loo. The story follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy named Chad (Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school. His mission, like many high schoolers, is to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids — while enduring the new dating life of his mother, Naz (Homayoon), and reconciling with his cultural identity.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the first season of Chad averages a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 681,000 viewers.
While the comedy series hasn’t been officially renewed for a second season, it seems unlikely that the production company would pass up $3.6 million in tax incentives from the California Film Commission. Season two of HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant was also awarded tax incentives to move production from New York to California.
Between the two programs, they are expected to generate $58.3 million in qualified below-the-line spending. Over 117 filming days, the comedy series are expected to employ 442 crew, 180 cast, and 1,980 background actors or stand-ins.

Why is Chad always putting down Cedric and Leroy? Just seems to make the show too serious and pedantic.
Yes I’ll be watching season 2 of Chad if renewed. It’s funny. It’s hard to watch the character because I want to yell at the screen for him to stop. But I can’t stop watching. It’s great.
Incredibly bad. They must have spent a fortune on the promos, which started months before the show. I avoid TBS entirely because the Chad commercials are constant and disgusting. Please stop serving this trash.
Season one was shot in Portland, Oregon. Only the pilot was shot in Vancouver.

It’s a fresh mix of Little House on the Prairie and Sanford and Son. It’s Lamont as giddy as a school girl finding warmth and comfort in a summers’s picnic with the town clown. It’s Barney Fife asking 50 Cent for a quarter to play PAC Mac while drinking chocolate malts together at a Miami Night Club at 4:26 Am on a Tuesday morning in December.
If this all makes sense to you, then so will this show Chad.
So bad….Cant buy the 41 playing the 14 year old. TOO annoying. I cant even stand the commercials. DROP IT

One word review…”Horrible” “insult” “Childlike” ……may have been mildly cute as a skit….but a 40 year old woman playing a 14 year old boy….if this is entertaining to this network…no hope for them
Worst series in history! I’d rather watch ‘Bio-Dome’ on repeat then one more second of Chad. Comedy is dead in Hollywood!

I really wanted to like the show because I’m looking for a fun new comedy since the big bang theory was canceled. After two episodes I deleted it from my taping schedule. Seeing the trailers before the show aired I was very confused by the person playing the character of Chad. After the show started and I read up on it a bit I realized that it is a thirtysomething-year-old woman pretending to be a 14-year-old boy and it just doesn’t work.
