NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

I don’t understand NBC. They have a good show and then they cancel it. I suppose it’s better to keep on the reality shows and game shows. Huh!
I completely love Chase! I can’t believe they would consider canceling one of the few prime time shows with talented actors. I certainly won’t be watching any other NBC shows now. Why get invested if they are just going to pull them? No point in bothering to watch NBC anymore.
I think Chase is Sooo much fun! Would really hate to see it go.
I enjoyed watching ‘Chase’. Why is NBC canceling this great show? I love the entire case, especially Jesse Metcalf.
I think that this is the only show I watch on NBC besides Days of our lives. I also think that they don’t give them enough time to before taking them off the air one season is not enough time to judge whether a show is good enough. I’m sick of games shows and reality tv. NBC you disappoint.
Awww come on NBC!!! I’m REALLY starting to dislike this network, they cancel all the good shows and keep the bad ones!! I LOVE Chase too!! Annie Frost is so badassssss!!!!! Get rid of The Cape and keep Chase!!!!
I watched the first 2 episodes. Couldn’t stand anymore. To have a hit show you need characters people care about. These people were just plain stupid. The marshall service probably cringed at these portrayals.
I really like Chase. It is a fun show to watch. It had a lot of action, which I like. I can’t stand reality TV/Game shows.
Sorry to see Chase leave 🙁 It was one of My Favorite
Shows… If it had stayed in a 9:00 pm time slot, maybe more people would have watched.
i luv chase too!! dam i am really gettin tired of these networks cancelling all the shows so quickly without giving them a chance. half a season doesnt qualify as a chance to me !!! stop it
I’d never heard of it till a few weeks ago. I caught up on all the episodes and I’d love to see it continue. It’s a fun show!
This show was ridiculous. Beyond unbelievable. Besides the totally unrealistic stunts, the plot was so paper thin as to be non existent. The latest two-part episode, the abduction, escape and subsequent rescue was horrible. Just horrible.
Oh, no! I LOVE “Chase”! It’s a terrific show. Annie is a strong, interesting, nuanced female character. Maybe that’s the problem!
I love Chase also! I just think when you start skipping weeks and move shows around people can’t find it, lose interest and then don’t get back into it. It happened to The West Wing best written show ever on tv. They would show a first run episode one week and the next a rerun. Frustrating! I don’t think they have given Chase time to find their audience so cancellation but let’s keep up that great quality of viewing like Jersey Shores or Real Housewives!
I love Chase!! Why do they always cancel the shows I like???
Hi Katy. Well since it’s the networks, it’s because you’re not 15, and the show isn’t “Dance dance dance” something or other. They don’t care about us adults.
