NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

This was one of the best shows on TV right now, much better than all these reality and gameshows. How could they replace it with Minute to Win It? That’s what’s sad about ratings, they don’t take into account how many people actually watch the show. Not everyone can be home to watch the shows live. I don’t think I’ll ever watch another NBC show again because they always get cancelled no matter how good they are. Hopefully TNT will pick up Chase, they seem to do a much better job with keeping good shows on the air. It seems… Read more »
I can’t write enough in support of this outstanding show. PLease keep this show on the air. A devoted fan
I am so sad to learn that this show is in the process of being cancelled. It was one of the view “cop dramas” I really enjoyed watching.
Love this show and am disappointed at the cancellation. It would be nice if NBC would at least put the unaired shows on their website so fans could see them.
I loved Chase! Hope they bring it back. Its seems the networks always end my favorites.
Please bring this show back. One of the best on TV>
I liked Chase and was at the “Pilot” shot in Anna…. NBC should have put it on Tuesdays… The show can not go against AI on Fox Wed. and RAW on Mondays… NBC should have chose a better day and time slot.
I really like the show. However I didn’t like Annie
Love the show!!! Hope it doesn’t get canceled!!!
No don’t cancel!!! Please show the last episodes.
Disagree with the poster that wanted more development of the character. That’s why so many dramas fail … they fail to stick to the plot. I love the show, but usually fast forward with the personal parts. It’s a cop drama, albeit marshals, and it should just stick to that and forget the personal stuff. Hawaii Five-0 is the same thing. I’m sick of Danny and his daughter, and I fast forward through that just to get to the drama part. Keep the drama part, but leave the other stuff to the afternoon soaps.
Good Show. It’s not it’s fault that it couldn’t compete with Hawaii Five-O…few things on NBC would be able to.
No!!!!!!!!!!! We LOVE Chase & looked forward to it every week. I am so sad to hear it is on hiatus 🙁
Love this show. Why do smart shows always end up cancelled?
I really enjoyed the show. There seemed to be a need for the main character to be developed more. She was slightly mysterious but we did not get enough back story or personal look into her life. The use of her damaged personality due to her relationship with her father should have been linked more to her current relationships. I would give the audience a peek into a different side of her fashion wise also, not necessarily all girly but something to go with those damn boots. The woman needed a hint of a life. I enjoyed the story line… Read more »
