What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Code Black stars Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Rob Lowe, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood. The story unfolds at Angels Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the country. The high patient volume dwarfs the resources available to the exceptional staff — creating a condition known as Code Black.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Code Black averaged a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.66 million viewers. Compared to season two, it is down by 27% and 5%, respectively. Find out how Code Black stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with much lower numbers than the second season, it is still too early to predict whether CBS will cancel or renew Code Black for season four. Last year, the renewal reportedly came about after some licensing fee concessions, so the decision won’t only depend upon first-run advertising rates, but the possibility of syndication earnings, too. Flying blind, I suspect it will score a fourth season to help ensure a decent-sized resale package. Since that’s just speculation though, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free Code Black cancellation or renewal alerts.

Why are networks still polling from the night a show airs? Get with the times, so many of us watch shows OnDemand on the weekends, or through Apps when we have time to catch up on our beloved shows. I love Code Black, what’s going to happen with Rox.. that’s just left hanging like a gut punch. So sad our favorite shows get cancelled because networks don’t poll the whole scope of how the audience watches their shows!

Code Black is the best, on the edge of your seat drama on TV in so long, I cannot believe you are canceling this show! Please rethink this decision, I watch a lot of television and this one is a keeper! There is so much junk on television now it is beyond me that Code Black would be canceled and the trash would stay!! Come on guys please give us a break and these marvelous actors that make this show so realistic and heart warming each and every week!
Agree 100%! What the hell are they thinking??? It’s out favorite show, PERIOD!! I mean, the writing is awesome, the actors are fantastic, and we really care about them! The heartfelt story line makes us cry every week! We DVR every episode! I was watching last night, and they said next week is the SERIES finale——not the season, but the whole show is going bye-bye!! I watch alot of television and Code Black is one of the bedt. Supberb acting, an amazing cast and so human. With all the junk out there is is such a waste of a good show. There needs to be a re evaluation. What a loss for television. There is no accounting for taste. Get rid of Housewives.
love Code Black. Why cancel? It is a show that holds my attention. In other words, Idont double or multi task while watching. RENEW.
Please, CBS. Don’t cancel Code Black. It’s one of the more intelligent dramas on TV. Cancel some of the crappy reality shows instead. This one has great actors and great scripts and was simply a victim of a bad time slot. Maybe another network will have the good sense to pick it up!

Code Black is a great show…the time slot is poor. It’s one of the best medical dramas that exists today…..its even reasonably accurate medically. Get with it CBS.
It’s done !!!! The stunningly high quality drama Code Black cannot possibly come back now. It has been cancelled, and Executive Producer (Michael Seitzman) has stated that the team behind the show’s storywriting were mindful of its cancellation. It would be near impossible to reneg on the three wonderful seasons we did get. I am willing to give this CBS drama the honour of giving its audience three spectacular seasons full to overflowing with intelligence; raw emotion; and the best insight into the human condition possible. Does anyone at CBS actually watch a show before they cancel it??? Code Black has gotten better with each episode and the cast is fantastic (take a look at the actors, they say a lot about the quality of the show). So sad that the people making the decisions at CBS can’t see that. Praying that another station picks it up and gives Code Black the respect it deserves. It’s too good a show for CBS.

DO NOT CANCEL CODE BLACK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! This is the best medical drama on television right now. It has the best characters. It has the best stories. It’s intelligent, provocative and it never slows down. Never boring. All the other medical dramas are so predictable. Leave this beautiful enticing show on the air.
Of COURSE you cancelled Code Black you idiots at CBS! It was way too intelligent and well acted for you. Stick with the increasingly boring NCIS shows (except Los Angeles, which I LOVE), and the so-so Bull. Your no-brainer comedies. Code Black is too smart for you Network people! Station 19 on ABC – a Grey’s Anatomy spin off, is stupid compared to the writing and acting on Code Black (although I admit to watching and liking it). Code Black is intelligent and gritty. It is one of the best shows on tv right now in my opinion (although they need to get rid of the new punk “1st year resident” that only wants to tape record everything). It should definitely be renewed!
