While Dante would say, “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here,” we’re not, but that’s just because nobody talks like that, anymore. USA Network has cancelled its Damnation TV show after just one season of 10 episodes. That means the season one finale, episode 1.10, “God’s Body,” which aired on January 18th, will now serve as the unintentional Damnation TV series finale.
A USA Network 1930s period drama, Damnation stars Killian Scott, Logan Marshall-Green, Sarah Jones, Chasten Harmon, Melinda Page Hamilton, Christopher Heyerdahl, Joe Adler, Teach Grant, Dan Donohue, David Haysom, Arnold Pinnock, and Rohan Mead. The heartland labor drama series centers on Seth Davenport (Scott). Although he’s a labor agitator, he poses as a small town Iowa preacher. Seth soon finds himself up against professional strikebreaker Creeley Turner (Marshall-Green), with whom he shares a dark and bloody past.
Damnation: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Damnation averaged a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 682,000 viewers. Out of the 10 USA Network TV shows we’re currently tracking, Damnation ranked seventh in terms of its demo ratings and rose to sixth place in terms of total audience size. While it could have gone either way, the cancellation isn’t shocking.
Series Creator Tony Tost on the Damnation Cancellation
In addition to Deadline and Variety confirming USA has passed on picking up Damnation season two, creator Tony Tost addressed the cancellation on Twitter. Check it out.
I love what we made, and how we went about making it. I'm proud to have #DamnationTV out there for people to still find days and weeks and months and years from now. Thanks and love to all who helped and supported and watched. https://t.co/fjjUaTM0zu

Earlier this week, Tost was still holding out hope for a Damnation season two renewal.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season? Should USA Network have cancelled or renewed Damnation for a second season? Sound off in the comments.
VERY disappointed this show was not coming back for season 2. My husband and I enjoyed it very much. Recorded each one so we at least can watch it again. Please reconsider bringing it back!!
I am pissed that Damnation is cancelled, I watched it and was looking forward to the continuation of the show . Where can I get more ?
Just watched the full Series of Domination in two days on Netflix in the UK it was fantastic! A period piece wonderfully written; well acted and directed. Series like this are few and far between, they would indeed be very foolish not to make a second series.
Too bad there won’t be a season two. I loved the show. I’m really disappointed.
Really enjoyed this programme I watched all the episodes yesterday and was hoping there was going to be some more!!
I cannot believe USA is not picking up a 2nd season of Damnation. Was one of the best shows this past season. I truly hope they reconsider and get this show back. Given the opportunity I know this show can be just as great in ratings as what USA wants. Disappointed. I think this is the only show on USA that I’ve actually watched and enjoyed. Disappointed. Another reason not continue watching USA.
Is there a chance Netflix will pick this show up for a second season? Maybe if enough people watch it? This is a GREAT show and it would be such a shame to never see a second season.
It’s amazing, there’s so much garbage out there that has been goin for far to long! Get 1 season of a decent series and they axe it.
Fantastic first season. Different and well acted. Left on a cliff hanger. Typical of American corporations.
We watched it and enjoyed it..heaps better than anything on free to air tv…
I just found this and binge watched the entire season!! Is USA network crazy?? If I would have know about it sooner it would have been a weekly regular for me. Please please bring it back!! And this time give it s fair chance.
This is very upsetting! My family and I were very intrigued in this show. It had so much truth not only for it’s time setting but events happening today. Why really did it get cancelled ? I hardly think if it were due to ratings it wasn’t given near the chance it truly deserved. Libtards!!
Loved the show. hope they make a new season
I loved the show. I hope they will find a way to make a new season
What! Great show, why they cancel it? Anything with any sense to it is always cancelled
