Telly’s Take
Will ABC cancel or renew Dancing with the Stars for season 28? To be honest, I’m sure it will be renewed but I am wondering if ABC will stop airing two cycles a year, especially now that they’re introcuding a Junior edition. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the ratings and update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on Dancing with the Stars cancellation or renewal news.
11/20/18 update: Dancing with the Stars has been renewed for season 28 but it won’t return until Fall 2019.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Dancing with the Stars TV show has been renewed for season 28? How would you feel if ABC had cancelled this TV series, instead?
DWTS should be cancelled. It’s over. When Bones won I was flabbergasted as was Len Goodman. The show has devolved into just a popularity contest and has nothing at all to do with dancing anymore. I did watch the first show and the new host treated it as though she was on a Vegas show and her demeaner was no better than some high school show; she kept looking to her right as though there were cue cards she was reading from.
The show was fun while it lasted but the past several seasons were drab.
I love DWRS! WOULD be SAD if it were cancelled.
I have LOVED Dancing with the Stars from the very beginning. I haven’t even minded that the “Stars” are mostly unknowns but thru the seasons we get to know those “unknowns” . The voting process is too wrong. It is a popularity vote, NOT a dancing contest. This past season was a joke. The most talented and the most improved dancers were voted out and a “star” that should have been voted out the first or second week. Now Bobby Jones DID improve and we was fun to watch, HOWEVER there were several others that showed dancing improvement and real… Read more »
Seeing the worst dancer ever on DWS win the title revoked me and the credibility of the shows. But by Bones should have never got past the second week. The judges need to look n the mirror and take responsibility for this huge mistake by this program. I will not watch ever again.
DWTS should be cancelled. A lot of people are not stars, and it has come to be a popularity Contest. The Same Judges are getting on my nerves, Bruno is such a theatrical person and loves himself too much, and the young lady acts like a 16 yr old always jumping and screaming about what has been done. The show has been on wayyyyy too long and like I said its is nothing but a popularity contest as you saw by this last win
There has been several times when people with little talent won because of popularity. Carrie Ann had a habit of voting up football players , only because she is crazy about football players, she was rude to many contestants simply out of personal preference. They also in 2020 cannot dance because of COVID19, so DWTS has had their day. Viewers are running over to cable and the main three Networks are losing out. DWTS is so OVER.
