Once again, Days of Our Lives was the lowest-rated of the four remaining network soap operas last season. It seemed very possible that it could be cancelled by NBC but the peacock network renewed Days in January 2019. Will this venerable soap be renewed for season 56 for the 2020-21 broadcast season or, could this series really be in its final days this time around? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Premiering on November 8th of 1965, Days of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. It revolves around the members of the Brady, Horton, and DiMera families — along with their friends, enemies, and lovers. Castmembers include Kristian Alfonso, Lamon Archey, Matthew Ashford, Camila Banus, Kassie DePaiva, Mary Beth Evans, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Deidre Hall, Stacy Haiduk, Drake Hogestyn, Victoria Konefal, Lauren Koslow, Wally Kurth, Eric Martsolf, Chandler Massey, Thia Megia, Casey Moss, Melissa Reeves, James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Freddie Smith, Sal Stowers, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer, Greg Vaughan, Robert Scott Wilson, and Arianne Zucker.

For comparisons: The 2018-19 season of Days of Our Lives averaged a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.01 million total viewers.

I love days and have watched it since the show started. I was 14 years old when I started watcing it with my mother. My husband and I watch it now. Please DO NOT CANCEL it, for some talk show. This is one of the orginal soaps… Also, make it more real again, its the writers that are ruining the show. Too much on real things , the dead coming back, unreal possession of Hope and Steve. I love days of our lives my grandma used to watch it until she died and got my sisters to watch it as well.
Looks like all the soaps are losing steam and with the cost to produce possibly a dying breed with the only way to survive possibly being streaming. Days writers need to take a hint from Young and the Restless get back to it’s roots. The head writer needs to be fired he took down two ABC shows and doing it with his over the top sci stuff. What HAVE YOU DONE to this program.??? I can hardly watch even on fast-forward. It is ludicrous… if we wanted fantasy we might tune in to something else ! The cast deserves better and the long-time watchers certainly deserve better than this..! I am sure Asking the viewer to fast-forward 1 year was the “end”… Dr. Rolfe ? Really? Stefano ? Really? “Patch ” Really? Princess Gina ? Really ? The actors are giving it their best and some of them are really good at their craft but… Please bring back the real Days of Our Lives…

I read recently read that they were firing the entire cast of DOOL. What I think is they need to fire the writers. I understand that the plot can get a little strange sometimes but really, bring people back from the dead with a magic potion?? The three-way love triangles are getting sort of old too.
Please renew..my life has been centered around Days since the first episode in 1965..I have watched EVERY episode since. I am 86 years old and just love Days…..
Patricia, I don’t watch days of our lives, but as one soap fan to another I do hope it is renewed. Growing up I watched GH, OLTL and All my children with my mother and couldn’t wait to come home from school to watch them. I am still upset 8 years later after OLTL and AMC were canceled. I hope GH doesn’t get canceled. I also watch Y&r and b&b and pray they leave our soaps alone! Sorry for a long reply and I hope they renew DAys for all the days fans to enjoy for years to come.

Please do not cancel Days of our lives! I love this show – I started watching over 30 years ago in high school and stopped for 10 years starting in college and have been tapping and watching again for the past 13 years every day. But I really don’t like last week’s episodes where they skipped ahead a year and keep waiting for someone to “wake up from a dream” as this is a bad story line. please don’t cancel Days of our Live . I have been watching all four Soap since I was young. Please don’t cannel Days . People need tell their friend to go on the NBC app and watch it , and DVD it and watch it . The Jump is awesome. Note we have a local boy casted for role of a teen in Days of our Live were in the Pensacola, Mobile area . So everyone needs to see Days of our are Lives.
I don’t want Days to go off. I have watched this show from day 1. It is a whole lot better than a talk show or a game show. Don’t understand about the jump ahead thing, Don’t make since. Characters killed without information who or why. But at least it is good to watch and you never know what is going to happen. I record it everyday and watch it later. At least with reruns starting soon, at least I will have something to watch. So keep this show on. Who cares about ratings. I sure don’t.
We want days of our lives to stay on. Been a faithful watcher from day 1. Haven’t missed a show. It’s on automatic record every day. Love days. Wasn’t crazy about the new skip a year.But will get used to it. Don’t like all our favorites going to jail or dying. Staying loyal. Maybe one day they will bring back Bo.. Love you Days of our Lives.
