Stephen Dorff is a familiar face to FOX viewers who watched the second season of Star. Now, he’s back on the network in the lead role of new series called Deputy. FOX has had a tough time establishing new drama series. Will this one be any different? Will Deputy be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A gritty crime drama with the flavor of a classic Western, Deputy was created by Will Beall and stars Dorff, Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses. The show follows an ensemble of ambitious and complicated people who won’t rest until justice is served. The story begins when the elected Sheriff of LA County dies and an arcane rule in the county charter suddenly thrusts the most unlikely man into the job. A true “white hat”, Bill Hollister (Dorff) is a fifth-generation lawman and is only interested in justice. His close team includes Deputy Cade Ward (Van Holt), Deputy Brianna Bishop (Taylor-Klaus), and Deputy Joseph Harris (McGhie). Hollister frequently butts heads with Doctor Paula Reyes (Martinez), chief trauma surgeon of LA County General Hospital and also, Hollister’s wife.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
3/20 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Deputy TV series on FOX? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*4/3/20 update: FOX has cancelled the Deputy TV series after one season.
I loooooooooove this show. I hulu it every Saturday because I work nights so I am not near a tv on Thursdays. It better not be cancelled!!!! I have seen where others have talked about the bad writing and the predictably off the show. I disagree. I am a fan. I have told others about it and I have my sister watching it. GO DEPUTY. SEASON 2!!
Best new show on tv
I love this show I’m hooked on it if u cancel this show it will be stupid cause it’s awesome
Love it ! Please keep it going.
My husband and I both absolutely love it. Please please please keep It going
The Deputy is one of the best shows. Let’s keep it going.
Love this new show on fox have seen all episopes. dont agree with Sheriff views on illegals but over all will keep watching good story line. Fox please renew.
I am a 69 year old male. I purposely tuned into the show because of the trailer. I have watched all episodes to date. I hope this Boschesque program is given a chance. Something romantic about a sheriff and his surgeon-wife out for a morning horse ride together beneath Mount Griffith. Quirky show and I like it.
I like the idea around this show and really like Stephen Dorff; but the filming and camera angles moving so much, I get dizzy. You need a new camera man or don’t move around so much. Do not like it when they feel they are above the law and yes we need ICE. There are laws even TV shows should go by.
My husband & I both enjoy the show.. We hope it doesn’t get cancelled! So many we have watched.. never come back .. We know it’s the ratings..
I tolerate this garbage because the wife watches it. The hero sheriff is the worst kind of cop, a self righteous, sanctimonious, cowboy who feels justified to choose which laws he will enforce and which he will violate, puts himself above oversight by elected officials and gives the whole law enforcement community a black eye.
I’ll give this a chance, but what a formulaic show! Playing-by-his-own-rules Cowboy vs. the Establishment. Oh hum. Dorff is trying his best, but I don’t know if it’ll be enough. I like the character of his “bodyguard”, though. She’s kinda fresh.
So they’re trying to push a show where it’s okay to not cooperate with ICE. He stated we’re all immigrants. Why is it so difficult to understand there’s a difference between legal and illegal? There is no way I will watch this garbage. I turned it off just minutes into the show.
No thank you, will not watch
Why is Hollywood asking law abiding citizens to watch shows that are related to the ICE situation and making it seem like it is not against the law?
Not for us.
I was so looking forward to this show, but WILL NOT watch a show that try’s to show illegals as good law abiding citizens – garbage in, garbage out.
