TV show description:
This horror/thriller series is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. It takes place in the late 19th century.
The mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has arrived in London and is posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.
He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night — a useful concept for someone who must avoid sunlight. He is aided by his loyal confidant, R.M. Renfield (Nonso Anozie).
Dracula has another reason for his travels however. He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw), a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Episode #10 — “Let There Be Light”
At long last, American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson executed a public demonstration of his miraculous electromagnetic resonator device, which promises to provide free, wireless electricity to all of London.
The demonstration was postponed after a previous attempt only a fortnight ago reportedly poisoned the surrounding neighborhood, causing children and elderly residents to become ill. Mr. Grayson insists that the poisoning was the result of sabotage, most likely by his rivals at the United Imperial Lubricant Company, although Scotland Yard has yet to find any evidence to support the claims.
This weekend’s demonstration, the second such attempt for Mr. Grayson, was to be his magnum opus, the result of years – possibly even decades – of research and construction that would revolutionize the world as we know it and put his oil industry rivals out of business entirely. What began as a day of triumph and victory ended as one of the most tragic and destructive days in London’s recent history.
At approximately 6:22 in the evening, moments after Grayson fired up his resonator to shed miraculous, wireless light on the entire district, the machine suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Grayson and his engineering team went to great lengths to evacuate the area as quickly as possible, and indeed the brave men spared many lives by doing so.
However, only five minutes after the machine was activated, a mechanical malfunction led to the largest manmade explosion in British history, centered directly in the heart of downtown London. The damage was catastrophic. At least a dozen people were killed in the explosion, and, while the numbers are still being tallied, estimates predict the number of injured persons to be in the hundreds, possibly even into the thousands.
Miraculously (and despite being in the belly of the beast itself during the explosion), Mr. Grayson managed to escape relatively unscathed, save for a few bumps and bruises. He is currently exiled in Carfax Manor and refusing to speak to the press, other than to briefly announce that he suspects foul play and sabotage to be the cause of the malfunction.
As London continues to recover from the horrific tragedy, hundreds remain missing. Most notably, Mr. Browning, a prominent member of British high society, has not been seen since the day of the explosion, despite the fact that Mr. Browning was not on site when the accident occurred. Miss Lady Jayne Wetherby is also unaccounted for, and she was last scene hailing a carriage toward the demonstration, only moments before the explosion. Also missing is Mr. Grayson’s right-hand man, Mr. Renfield, who was last seen returning to Carfax Manor on the day of the demonstration.

What do you think? Do you like the Dracula TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Keep Dracula going?????
Some shows needed time to catch the audience’s attention. Why would a show be cancelled just as the momentum was growing? Your audience is there!!!
Dracula in its own way is relevant to today. Think of it! I’m not a green energy proponant but with the introduction of the Tesla Coil and Dracula’s proposed energy plan in the show, what better way to play off of the proposed use of electricity and the Tesla Car.
Please renew this series!!!!!! I looked forward every week to see what was going to happen. Very well-written. superb acting. You can’t go wrong with J. Rhys Meyers. Please reconsider.
Please renew
Well we tried. At least I know I emailed them and tweeted them. The stupid jokers at NBC cancelled it anyway. Now I only have one show that I watch on that idiotic network, and that is Grimm. I wish it was on another network so I wouldn’t have to watch NBC at all!
Yes, it too darned bad! that Dracula was cancelled. Even Grimm doesn’t measure up. Although I learned to tolerate it. So now it is off the air. Now there is Hannibal, who wants to watch a man eating other men alive? It’s ludicrous. Didn’t we all learn from Jeffrey Dahmer, how socially unacceptable that was? Yuck! It’s a loser show! I hope we don’t have misguided people, eating other people alive. It’s sick; and just too close to real human behavior. At least Dracula is fantasy. Let’s not have a cannibal, live in our neighborhoods, and walk amongst us. It’s… Read more »

I can not believe that the show would be canceled. Dracula really kept you each week wanting more. Just like Sleepy Hollow. When something grabs your attention like that to can hardly wait till next week. I am shocked. What really is bad is how the shows you are bringing in now is nothing but vamps and sci fi. I must say I am glad Sleepy Hollow is coming back. You only give them one shot and a cliff hanger and put stupid series in. I do not understand. I have to watch T. V. because I have had many surgeries… Read more »
I love Dracula, most of the shows on TV are just junk clips of crap thrown together. I hope this is put on dvd bcz it is a really good and tasteful show. What do people have to do to get good tv. I would watch cable if I could afford it but I have children and grandkids so I’m tapped out. Its nice to watch a great show in peace when everyone is napping.
Please please renew this show! I think there’s lots left in terms of plot changes and story lines. BTW, does anyone know where I can find the original web episodes?
Please renew.
I think this show is awesome and in no way should be cancelled. compared to some of the other shows on TV, this show is far superior to them. Please don’t cancel this show, please. thank you for your time! and oh yeah, the actor who plays Dracula, does an outstanding job, extremely good looking and very sexy and sensual. One of the better Draculas’ I think! To be fair, all of the actors and actresses do a great job, but the actor who plays Dracula seems like the role in this show was made for him and no other… Read more »
Please renew DRacula because there are more shows in the series than past season
Please renew Dracula. there is very little I find interesting enough to watch an entire season of. i foound that with Dracula. I am enjoying the performance by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. it would be a horrific shame to take this off the air when ther are so few shows like iton. I find myself wataching more and more bbca to find series i enjoy. You have a winner with Dracula. The story is well know and there is enough of a twist with the story line to keep us interested, then theer is Mr. Meyers who gives a sterling performance… Read more »
